Take a bow, son
Seize the day
The hard work is over, done
Take a bow, you won.

Take a bow, son
You made the move
A though, a breath, a voice
Take a bow, you made the choice.

Take a bow, son
No, listen hard to me
Know it's true, the decisions been made
Take a bow, the price is paid.

Take your bow
I made the move
It was my choice to make
Take your bow, for fates sake.

Take your bow
My mind is thrown
This feeling I have, odd and strange
Take your bow, take back the change.

I'm not what I once was
A sea of change and pain
The smiles that follow a new touch
A whisper of time gone by
And all that's new I was gone
As smiles of old now die

I'm not what I once was
A whole to be filled
In the light that was my life
An age stretches out before us
A line drawn in the sand of time
Don't talk or fuss or touch

I am now anew
Reborn from the ashes, rising
The dust has settled the ash is laid
A step across the sand of time
I'm not what I once was

I'm a wordsmith
A word that starts and smarts
The pain across your face
Like a whip

I'm a wordsmith
They bounce upon the page and skin
And seep into the cracks
Like water

I'm a wordsmith
The lines all blur to one
My voice, your ears, the future
Like a whip.

Avoiding the eyes, the arms and legs
the charity seller eagerly awaiting
I look about but all I see is a sea of bodies
polluting the streets, the skies, their minds
move on
making noise, make less noise
fill the silence
take a breath of air, all the way down
take a pause
there's time
no need to rush around
pounding the chewing gum streets
The grime of life is on your skin now
embedded in the layers of filth
the coffee stains and late night bars
the early starts and frown lines of life
are on your face now
that's life now
make change and waves in the noise that was your life
where silence pounds the chewing gum streets of your mind.
