Thunder...in my chest.
The constant thumping clashes against my ribs.
Beats of a forgotten language.
Rhythmic melody that makes me blush. Sounds of love and tranquility echo throughout my body.
Blood rushes to my brain calling for action. Hesitation locks my movements.
I can’t move. I push harder and harder. Transfixed in a gaze.
She’s laying there.
As if the angles carved her from stone.
Eyes placed closed in a somber, I wish to free her from.
She wanders in the world of memories and dreams.
Unable to allow her to be trapped any longer.... I place my lips on hers.
The feeling of her warmth is....comforting.
The tightness from her lips begins to grip.
I hold her for a brief moment to allow her to fully regain herself.
Pulling away she opens her eyes to show my the galaxy’s trapped in her gaze.
She smiles... and says
“Goodmorning my love”
Best feeling in the world.

The moment that I saw you, I fell under your spell
The way that you hold me and I get your sweet smell

You stare deep into my soul, untouched by any woman
My heart beats so slow, you make me feel human

Your skin melts against mine, warm to the touch
Goosebumps tickle my body, I love you so much

Your love is a swelling storm, an I’m caught in it all
Please don’t ever let me go, I know I will surly fall

Eyes water as I hold my breath
Feel the air depleting as I beg for death.
Arms bleed and fall numb to the pain
Crawling through the window into the rain

Ears throbbing from the outlandish blast
Siting with my rifle, this fight will be my last
Enemies approach for an attack
Pull the bolt back, give it one quick rack.

I’m a warrior, I’m no stranger to the fray
Battle hardened from death and decay
This is where I will make my final stand
Forgive me, for I may go to the holy land

Rifle barrels explode all around
Shells land on the blood soaked ground
Reinforcements push up, securing the area
Medics pull me away from the mass hysteria

I look back at my fallen comrades
Men that were sons, husbands, and dads
Locked in a twisted burning tomb
Unable to escape their fiery doom.

5 years have past since that day
Nightmares that haunt me will never go away
I think of them every time I hug my family
Hero’s of war or just another casualty?

Wondering in the dark
Downed poles begin to spark
Smoke blankets the sky
Lights begin to die

Burning trees glow around me
Waves dance in the sea
Sirens echo for miles
Bodies wash up in piles

Blood and sand mix under my feet
Our flag smoldering in defeat
The smell is nauseating
Heavy radiation is suffocating

Planes circle above in the dark clouds
Second sun fades as darkness enshrouds
On the side of the planes red, white and blue
America, what did you do?

My world costumed in flames
But who is to blame?
The silence is so loud
Once my home, now a mushroom cloud.

Eyes watering and tears steam down her face.
He pulls her close, so she feels his embrace.

Fire ignites the sky, illuminating the horizon.
She looks at the blast and her eyes began to widen.

He grabs her face a shouts, look at me my love.
The sky darkens as clouds form above.

She stares deep into his eyes finding peace in his gaze.
Suddenly their surroundings are set ablaze.

She hugs his chest and holds him tight.
He's whispers in her ear, no matter the darkness you will always be my light.

The End

Her
Under the moon lit sky.
Darkness all around me.
Your smile catches my eye.
Like a lighthouse in a Black Sea .

Lighting the way to a brighter tomorrow.
I follow the path of pure bliss.
You wait for me, to end my sorrow.
Your lips press mine for one final kiss.

Your skin, soft to the touch
Holding your hands with passion
The pain in my heart is almost too much
Is this true love or merely a distraction?

— The End —
