Puppets
 Jan 2016 Sundas
Argentum
we're all puppets
strangling in strings:
many puppeteers pull
at the strings
tugging us toward
Different destinations
the puppeteers choose us puppets--
or do us puppets choose them?

      and they

use us in their shows,their
Meticulously
planned out games
of desire,
needs and wants
victory and
defeat.

                sometimes!

    some mysterious string
drags us away kicking and screaming
or maybe
we follow that string curiously

and our other strings break,
leaving the puppeteers with the
bitter taste of disappointment

and that other strings leads to the
                                                 painful
               Truth

we refuse
to face;
the Truth
we chose
to avoid
at the price
of freedom.

Your seat was one we all sat in
And the days swung by like swings
Going higher into the sky
You're flying
And the blue is magnificent
Whilst the sun shines blindingly
Blissfully we jump
The grass brushes the soles of our feet
Before we fall to the ground as the world spins so sweet
The birds and distant trains make for a peaceful reverie
Whilst the days feel like they're a part of you
And they will always be
Even when they're over you remember them so clearly
The seat will never be empty and you will always be there
I see you sitting in it now
We're no longer there to take it
And the swing is flying higher than ever before
With those little faces so happy
Those trains forever rolling along
Those birds singing beautifully as the kitchen chimes with life
The icecream van tune that threatened your Walls bought gift
A funny thing which for some reason stays unforgotten
I sit on the swing, the teal and yellow memory
And with a longing ache, I smile.

I build it up and hold a fire
and burn all night long
I acquiesce with grace, to your desire
and dance to a tuneless song

I drench this frail body in tears
and melt my flesh for you
I strip myself of all my fears
and do as you ask me to

I hiss and gently watch your eyes
as you are bending over me
I don't attempt to hush my sighs
and tease you as you tease me

I lie awake and keep you warm
when you decide to sleep
I faint and fade in my calm
my strength isn't to keep

I stay by you when morning dawns
and refuse to let go
I just am one among your pawns
which you eventually throw....
