Consent of life
Shane Willey Jun 2018
Look up from your phone
See the world for what it is
Beautiful with every leaf and rock
Life doing what it does
Not needing anyone's approval or consent

Taking the L of Life
Shane Willey Jun 2018
Lust is gone because of broken hearts.
Living terminates as excitement fades.
Love stops when meaning is lost.
Life is arrested at the scene of the crime.

Caesar
Shane Willey May 2018
Words of black
hang off your lips.
Singing songs into ears
Of your friends.

Each letter
Slides off your
Pink, lushes lips.
Like a kid on a playground.

The kid is happy and content
Running around playing.
But at the same time
The playground is dirtied.

In doing so you dirtied me.
I loved you and respected you.
Fires lit are now washed away
Far gone past the salvation point.

What's left? What's left after youve gone through
Like a tornado your words twist and turn
My every tear upon my face.

Like a knife your words
Let the blood escape my back,
Not just the back.
The legs, the stomach the chest, my head.

My arms are sore
Of the stress you
Made me endure.
All it took was three little words.

Close of the Adventure
Shane Willey Dec 2017
Sitting in the middle of a room
Fading in and out of focus
A flower not yet in bloom
Feeling like a head full of mucous.

Gloomy and grey colors of the walls.
Eyes closed, leaning back
I try to stand but my brain stalls.
The motor skills I now lack.

This is the final adventure
One taken in solitude
At the cause of indenture
The adventure, I now conclude.

Dimension of Color
Shane Willey Dec 2017
Colors of yellow flood the room
Birds fly by with vibrant plumes.
The walls are studded with glowing rocks.
The sharp edges of the wall give me shocks.

Up and down the corridor, they shimmer.
Reflecting off each other, they glimmer.
Amber, cyan, cerulean, amethyst.
Colors like potions of an alchemist.

They diminish and increase with time.
But look stunning and full in their prime.
Like hearts of the cave, fractured in millions.
Each one is a different civilian.

They radiate beauty, energy, light.
Not one corner remains dark as night.
The tunnel is long, twists and turns.
Walking this length, my feet have no burns.

This cave of wonders has it's value.
My experience turn this from profit to view.
The cave is a city of lively animation.
I have stepped into the next dimension.

Golden Age
Shane Willey Nov 2017
Smiles paint our faces
As downhill we go
A golden crown resides
Atop our heads.

We are rulers of the realm.
Our happiness controls life
We dance across the meadow
Vibrant green grass stands tall

White petals with yellow cores
Live in patches, like cities in our kingdom.
I'm tackled to the floor,
We are gods to the bugs of the ground.

Rolling down the hill, faster and faster.
So happy. Happy.
Smiling cannot convey my true feeling.
My love defies a satisfied expression.

I take your hand in mine
You draw me near, not near enough.
My face seems to have forgotten a frown.
It knows not how to make that shape.

Laughs escape through our lips
And we start again.
Running together, together forevermore.
Dancing gracefully into the hands of the future.

Dream Big
Shane Willey Nov 2017
My heart listens to the sound
of a child finding its way
lost between differences
of the mind.

Over this, over that,
they find a way
into the void,
out of the clouds.

Like an angel getting its wings
a bell rings and a teen
finds who they are.
different from everybody else.

they find their core
and they can only go up
fly above the clouds
and the gates are open.

Open to what they put
their minds to
setting whatever goal
accomplishing with a flare.

We are beautiful.
black, white, young old.
we are told to dream big,
when they want us to dream small.

Because thats how much faith they lack.

Sonnet for the Past
Shane Willey Nov 2017
Oh what news do you have in store for me?
I have been waiting all day to learn more.
More about the person I once knew well
And know less about the one I know now.
How about you start with your childhood, yes?
I know not from whence you came, but you must.
For you have lived through and through, life on end.
I will have to guess, that is how it seems.
My imagination isn't large enough.
I can't comprehend what lifestyle you had.
I wonder if you were a parent, hmm?
Or maybe a secret agent? Not so!
Perhaps you were just a normal person,
Wanting a new life, for people to stop-
I shared this with an old friend and she really appreciated it, I hope you can too! :')

Lost
Shane Willey Nov 2017
You think you're right?
Talk about putting up a fight!
How can that be true,
When the only ones that believes is you.

You're wrong, forever and ever.
I don't even need to try to be clever.
Why do you fight back, you've already lost.
Just stop now, while still low is the cost!

What did you just say? No really, I missed it.
I'm sorry I acted like such a twit.
Dinner tonight? Oh you're busy.
That's alright. Man I'm dizzy.

Did she really say that to me?
Never has she been so busy like a bee.
Maybe she's avoiding contact
No, it's probably just an act.

She'll come back to me tomorrow
Free from tears of sorrow.
I hope that's how this ends
And not-- nevermind, my thoughts may not bend.

The next morning she had not returned.
My love, my love, to thee I yearn.
Tears bleed from my eyes,
The gods pick at me, like flies.

Heat fills my face, my breaths stagger.
I love you, please don't be gone.
Please, I can't live without you.
I- I- can't go on. Please come back my love.

Tears on my clothing was the least of my problems.
My life used to be stable, held by columns.
Your absence has weakened them.
What's left is nothing without my gem.

I'm ruined, done with.
With what I thought was a myth.
It's true, don't ever forget it.
My love has been lost, a cost because of wit.
This is a follow up poem for "jewel" hope you enjoyed.

Jewel
Shane Willey Nov 2017
She feels all alone
This feeling is prone
Nothing can change this
Not even sweet bliss.

Aye it may work for a short while
But life is like an unfair trial
A god sits with unbearable wit
All his plays seem to fit.

What can she do? Is there anything?
Such a struggle, when clipped was her wing.
Falling falling spiraling down,
Off his head falls a golden crown.

He's lost the one valuable force
All because of one small discourse.
Gone gone, distant, afar.
All because of who we are.
What are your interpretations? I'd like to hear them.

The Boulder
Shane Willey Oct 2017
Descending, drifting. Fallen.
Losing, weakening. Lost.
Nervous, anxious. Stress.
Cry, shout. Scream.

Dry tears, laying in bed.
Feelings anguish and dismay.
Wanting the world to press pause,
So I can regain lost time.

Looking up at the ceiling
Pain behind the eyes,
The tears restart.
I feel it slide down my face.

The water bears no shock.
It travels the same path as before.
Unchanging, and constant.
Down down, off my face.

My hand is a boulder
Interrupting the stream of time
The path destroyed.
Direction is false.

The path dug into my skin is no more. Clarity.
No singular conformed trail. Freedom.
Free to shape my own life. Choice.
The world's ambiance, is warm. Hearth.

Who are you?
Shane Willey Oct 2017
What do you want from me?
Nothing satisfies you
You're always pushy
I can't stand you anymore.

We used to be friends
You then got upset
When I didn't give you
What you wanted from me.

Twice that happened
And too many times.
You ignore me now
I can't get you to talk.

You're changing quick
Losing friends fast
You're different for the worse
I don't like what you've become.

You put makeup on
Masking your face
To be unique
To be yourself.

But is this you?
Is this the person
I used to know?
Or is he long gone?

How do I get him
Back to his place
By my side.
Home again.

Begone with this ****,
I want nothing to do with.
All he's caused, is trouble and stress.
All he's done, is unimpress.
Hope you enjoyed my rant, it was about this dude who used to be a good friend but turned into a ****, if you couldn't tell :)

The Final Draft
Shane Willey Jul 2017
Sitting in my chair
Messing with my hair,
I read the essay prompt
My brain felt swamped.

I think of you
What would you do?
How do I concentrate?
Can you demonstrate?

Suddenly, a burst of air
fills the room with flare.
It's that **** door
why didn't I notice it before?

I feel the breeze against my flesh
I regain my thoughts and feel fresh
In, I breathe, clearing my head
Out, I push all thoughts of dread.

I take a sip of my cold drink,
Now I can finally think!
I pick up my pen, oh how daft,
I realize as I write my final draft.
I finished this poem and right as I was about to hit save, my internet went down. So I did my best to recreate the same poem, and I guess I was somewhat successful. Oh the original was such a gem.

I wasn't ready
For you to see
How free
I can be.

I stepped outside
For a moment of pride
At the accomplishment
Moments later, I went.

You wondered, Jack
I brought a spare pack.
I never told you why
You would plead and cry.

I took you to the edge
Toes to the ledge.
I kissed you goodnight,
And finally took flight.

A Cloud
Shane Willey Jul 2017
My darkest cloud
May act like a shroud.
And hide who I truly am.

For who I love
And who I shove
Matters not, to me.

I Love them all
Big and small
I cannot judge.

They look the same
Playing the game
Spirits alike and different.
I was feeling the three line stanza so I went with it. :)

Clear Skies
Shane Willey Jul 2017
Staring out the window
Wishing I were there
On a nice hill, oh
With green grass everywhere

The wind slightly blowing
The air is nice and warm
Through my hair, flowing
Around my body like a swarm.

I see blue skies and clouds
They're puffy and white
So plentiful and proud
The atmosphere is full of light.

I smile, this is my home out of town
I lay down in the grass
I'm with you, we make flower crowns.
I hear shattering glass.

Something is wrong, the scene changes.
The skies turn dark, the rivers run red
The differences flies through ranges.
The daydream has been misled.

I hear screams of a frightened teen
He runs down the hill with a knife.
The grass is no longer green
It is stained with blood and strife.

Rolling down the hill is a body
It keeps falling, it can't stop
The person rolls over the yellow poppies
It was a fresh new plant, now a dead crop

He falls to his knees and cries
His sleeve is shredded and blood red.
Tears flushing out of his eyes
The person rolling down the hill, is dead.
I don't know what happened while I wrote this. Somehow it just went from taking in the beautiful scenery to killing a man.

Revenge of the Wild
Shane Willey Jul 2017
The time has come for a great battle
A fight where beasts turn into cattle.
Grown only to be slaughtered once more,
This is when the animals come stomping down their door.

Silver and gold plated armor glistens in the light,
We have precisely sharpened our claws overnight.
They know we are coming soon we'll be there,
Lock your doors, board your windows, and beware.

You have short time to say adieu
We will take no prisoners, unlike you.
Too many times we've been hunted and killed
We will cleanse our land of things you build

We'll storm the metropolis nowhere is secure,
Hospitals, hotels, houses, all destroyed for sure.
**** all the beasts, leave nothing alive
For they are the reason we do not thrive.

To defeat this immense threat,
We've prepared, don't you fret.
The wild animals have joined forces
Deers with bears, and lions with horses.

Together we will get our revenge
And our fallen allies we will avenge.
You can't stop us, you will try
Your heart from your chest, we will pry.

Hunted and killed, we are sick and tired,
Hearts ablaze and our minds are fired.
We line up on the battlefield one by one
To wipe out the beastly humans, the final battle has begun.

— The End —
