there was once a girl so bright
the sparkle in her eyes never dull
she had everything she could have dreamed of
her life wasn't perfect
but with him as perfect as it gets
he gave her hope
that one day she would have her fairytale
herself the princess and him the prince
but not after long
the prince turned into a toad
he built the princess a castle of hope
only to knock it all down
he told her about this thing called love
the princess unsure if it were real
he taught her how to feel it
but didn't stay to make it last
the silly toad didn't know what he lost
but the princess lost something that day
the sparkle in her eye burned out
and she was sure they'd never shine again
for he was the reason they lit up
My best friend wrote this for me.
Lonely and cold,
I wait for love
beside the frosted window
while dreams of fireflies
sparkle in the snow.
I sip black coffee
from my mug, quietly,
so I don't wake them...

Because I know when summer comes
I’ll have found someone
and I want to make sure they're all well rested
so they can swirl around my lover and me
when our soft lips spark
for the first time
like flint,
so I can watch them drown out
in that new lovelight
that'll glow furiously when dusk
cinders into darkness.

But for now
I'll have to deal with the darkest months
alone
while they lay on the lawn
asleep under the moon
with beautiful dreams.
.
I have always known you
Stranger,
In this whirling tavern,
Where life is plasmic.

You speak with sweetest
Nothings,
In my groping, deaf ears,
Where sense is non.

And now we are laying
Hollow,
On this letted, fresh bed,
Without any clues.

Your are plain, beautiful
Stranger,
Your hands ply my soul,
As bees on dry flower.
I never knew.

I never knew I could feel this way.
I never knew it could be this way.
The way you make me feel
As I feel you, beside me.

The warmth of which surrounds us
on this dark, rainy night
wrapped up in sheets.

If there's anything to learn from living;
it's the idea that love is a part of it
and life is the foundation of what love is capable of.

I never knew the extent of love,
until I found love staring at me in the eye.

and I love your eyes.
A quick, short poem I wrote about my soul-mate.
I like to see your eyes closed and imagine that they are open, because your beautiful eyes are as enigmatic as the universe itself.
I say your name
and my heart becomes
a little kid
pulling me towards the
candy aisle with both hands
ignoring my protests
of no time
no money
and it’s been too long
since I last saw a dentist
so who knows if my teeth
could handle your sweetness

I say your name
and we’re just two
kids in love again
stopping in the middle
of an empty street
to kiss open mouthed
like you are an oxygen tank
and I’m at the bottom
of the deepest ocean

I say your name
and I’m looking at
engagement rings
while calculating costs
and telling the clerk
behind the counter
that I plan to marry you

I say your name
and it is like water
after a hundred year drought
sweet and light
on my tongue

I say your name
I say your name
I say your name
and it’s like coming home
Fell in love in fifth grade. Ten years later, and I'm still in love. To say I've got it bad would be an understatement.
