Change
Keonte Johnson Aug 2016
Sometimes you should experiment
Because change doesn't want you to fear it
Doing something new
Will help you discover things about you
Things that only you can uncover
You hold the only map, so start digging for treasure
You’ll find things are are useful
Develop traits like being truthful
Self evaluation is the key to success
Its like getting your results back after a test
You can improve on your mistakes
Don't rush though, it doesn't matter how long it takes
Just improve on yourself and be the best that you can be
But you already know that, so you don't need to hear it from me
The only thing you need to know is one fact
And that is no matter what you do I have your back

Frames
Keonte Johnson Aug 2016
Everywhere I look these things exist
No matter where you are these things persist
Hardly ever noticed and sometimes taken for granted
But in very few places are they an antic
They don’t squeeze they don’t bind
If you are confined by one you are fine
Everyone has one believe it or not
But you and I are different because we do not
While they are stuck with nowhere to go
We are free and can only grow
With no limits we are freer than free
And because of this difference we are happy as can be
I think this is the second or third poem I ever wrote. It's not good at all but I tried being positive because the first one or two were dark. Picture frames were the inspiration to this one.

Void
Keonte Johnson Aug 2016
There’s this void in my heart
A terminal illness, I was bound to die from the start
Day by day it slowly gets bigger
And so the amount of pain it does trigger
I don’t consider this to be living
And I think, Why is life so unforgiving?
But somehow I get through it
Now that I think about it, there is one secret
There is one thing that makes the pain all the more worthwhile
And it never fails to give me a smile
Always there when needed
And without it I never would have succeeded
This thing makes my body numb and fills me with joy
It makes me feel alive like a newborn baby boy
It caresses me dearly
Helps me see the world clearly
Because of this thing I feel brand new
Dont be surprised when I say this thing is you
I ended making it about someone you hold dearly or cherish that has lifted you up someway in life. OR it means whatever you want. If you think its about puppies flying into space then it's about puppies flying into space :)

Im seeing this place, a place full of flowers
These flowers are like tall aromatic towers
The sky is deep blue all of the time
And its beauty is enhanced the higher up the flowers you climb
This is a place that I wish I could be every second of everyday
But there are things that prevent it and just get in the way
They are real life things that make me stress and worry
Everything and everyone is so fast paced and in a hurry
I just want to slow down and stay in the place i described before
Where i can smell the sweet scents and look at the sky and nothing more
I dont want to experience these things alone though
I want you to come with me, drop everything you are doing now and just go
And we can be who we really are with no one to judge
Lying in the flowers that are so soft they give hugs
We have to leave now but to get there in time we have to run
So will you do it Jackie? Will you come?

Or

Would you rather go to a place thats even further
That is pitch black dark and filled with screams from ******
There is blood up to your knees and it drips from the ceiling
And the blood is tainted and makes you lose all feeling
And you slowly start to fall asleep
And drown because you are too weak to stand on your feet
And right before you die the floor underneath you starts to blaze
And your dead body boils in the tainted blood or the rest of your bodies decomposing days

How 'bout somewhere in the middle?
Not easy as cake, or hard as a fiddle
A field full of flowers would be really nice
But life's just not the same without a little spice
Plus, who'd be there to feed my kitty,
Once i move away from my home city?
I got nothin' else. XD
A poem I did with a friend off top. Was pretty funny. I stated writing it when she was afk and when she came back she finished it.

Alone
Keonte Johnson Aug 2016
Being alone is hard to describe
The way it makes you feel on the inside
Like no one wants to hear you
Or maybe people fear you
It’s emotionally exhausting
It has a bitter taste like lemon frosting
But only after being alone do you feel stronger
You change your thinking and feel this way no longer
You emerge a new person
You finally open up the curtains
You look at the sky and see no part without cloud
And you hear the thunder boom quite loud
At that moment you look at the barron wet terrain
And remember why you were in pain
There is nothing left but the raging cyclone
And when that subsides you’ll be all alone

The Owl
Keonte Johnson Aug 2016
Owls are very cunning
Their grace and beauty are what's stunning
A lot of people would agree
That these birds are a sight to see
You had adored these birds since you were small
Painting pictures and putting them on your wall
But the sad thing was you had never seen one
So you thought a camp out search would be fun
That night while you walked down a trail
You found one in a tree that looked quite pale
At that very moment the bird let out a shriek
You thought it discovered you so you started to freak
But the bird didn't move, not even an inch
If it knew you were there it atleast would've flinched
You looked at the full moon then heard a close howl
It sounded like wolves were on the prowl
Then you heard growling and looked ahead
And saw a wolf baring his teeth as he lowered his head
You looked for a way around it
But this wolf's pack had you surrounded
The owl's shriek wasn't a normal call
It was a cry for help and had lured them all
At that moment the bird turned its head
And you saw it's red eyes as you were filled with dread
You were just bait for this owl's game
The bird then flew away without any shame
You then died a horrible death
Watching the bird fly out of sight as you took your last breath

Broken
Keonte Johnson Aug 2016
You know how it feels to be broken
When you realize all of the pain it has awoken
It can happen to you on the inside and out
The natural reaction is to scream and shout
But that doesn't make the pain go away
It keeps surging telling you it's here to stay
Or you can suffer in silence and hold it in
As it corrodes your thoughts and you yearn for it to end
Only some can be pieced back together
But they lose important pieces that are lost forever
For others the pain will just worsen
As they lose more and more pieces they will never be the same person
And when you look at yourself and see all of your imperfection
You see the painful voids caused by the lack of protection

— The End —
