Waves roll thru
the peaks and valleys
at high tide noon

viridescent sea
calls to my shores
a call to action
for change is running me
high and dry;
leaving me to inhale
your sigh

Waves roll thru the
valley of my mind
high tide noon
the time to come
has come too soon
for change is calling my name
again, and when the West
summons, I'll wade in the
water until the waves turn blue
I no longer wait
and wait
for you

A revolution
is comin'
over the peak,
through the valley of truth
we stand tall,
firm, and heavenly
in our youth

stand tall and near,
for when you

I'll be right here

I see it through my

I'll be right here

Ode to the past
Samantha Cunha Nov 2018
Glowing angel
amongst
the dark
the evil
mind &  heart
in the utmost
dishevel

I floated along
those pitch black streets
Feelings of
never-ending sorrow
& defeat

A place I no longer
call home
Everyone dimmed
nobody shone

For I rose above
the crumbling ashes
Like a phoenix
who lit the matches

To find there is more
to be sought after
Then chasing the
unattainable high
Adrenaline  hits so hard
it make you sigh
darkest of paths
morals awry

I look for serenity
in other ways
now
Found another home
anyhow
Couldn’t linger on
I had to go
I think of this place often
I hope you know

up your
eyes in tinges

the transient

our

the map led us nowhere

we almost
crossed the threshold
there was a war
of the utmost extent
on the other side,
so we never did

the war within weighed
heavy upon us,
and our love
dispersed in
the night
the nights felt long,
like a passing car
on a highway
into the abyss
of nothingness

we parted ways and
drove down separate
freeways past
liquor stores,
and palm trees galore.

lost in a toxic wasteland
for days on end,
we don't exist outside

Tales only seen by eyes
Uncouth
They light the cigarette
In the wind of a gas station daydream
Reckless as the night is long
The days are short and sweet
Vapid beings in a realm of
Lust, eyes wild behind the
Sun kissed hair piled high
The wicked youth
Come out at night

he has gone mad again,

there's white powder dripping

dripping from his elongated nose
he smiles wicked
his eyes wild

I still drink him up like wine

I was becoming

You were my escape

the azure sea keeps

Daydreams of pale

Oh, you raven of the night -
subverting the rules, seeking freedom,
ready to spread those black wings & take flight
with your black hair, sweeping ever so slightly over your black eyes the way your mouth moves ever so gently when you speak eloquent lies
the touch of yours, cold to my bones
the way you lay gently in grass with purple stones
How you feel, the words you speak
which light me up , electrify my soul, and make me weak
right before you break me down again
In his arm it feels like heaven or a hell of sorts,
for once I get a taste it's never enough
drowning in it, drowning in it, drowning in it!
love is like a shore or maybe an abyss
ready to burn and leave a scar, here but never quite there
lost in some world of another
for in his arms it feels like heaven or a hell of sorts

We awoke asleep
in an empty home,
his eyes were adrift
and unearthly
my eyes were forlorn

In a transient moment
of uncertainty,
the answers came
bestowed upon my
third eye open,
my first eye shut

The palm trees are swaying outside
the motel, and it's night time again
We sip the coffee to stay awake,
and write our woes
into the sand

We speak out loud to practice
the words, and create poetry
with our bodies entwined
beneath the blue moon

Riding high amongst the winds
Of a midnight breeze
And in the illusion of time

Drops,
Are never in vein
