And I know I've been closing myself off, unsure
I know I've been real hard to reach, harder to love
And I know it's tiring, this **** is getting old

But please, just hold on to me
I've slayed these demons, they're old to me
Recurring dreams, this is happening
Tearing my seams; lucid reality

And I just want you to feel love (love!)
Before it disappears (not!)
'Cause we are more than we're not (wrong!)
So never fear to feel (brave!)
Good when everything's wrong (love!)
And find some beauty there (not!)
'Cause all we ever are is brave (brave!)
And your world's not ending, ooh

So I won't go
I'm still living in the middle of a one-way war
I can't fight it but I'm trying to be what you want, yeah
You can't sing but you're singing this anyway
And anyway, so please just hold on to me
This is no end, we're not finished here
Finding our way, we're just changing
Becoming more than I think of me, yeah
These fears in my head, dreams in my bed
They won't get the best of me, yeah
'Cause I chase dreams 'til the end
These nightmares all bend
Silver linings are all I need

So, please, just hold on to me
I've slayed these demons, they're old to me
Recurring dreams, this is happening
Tearing my seams from reality

And I just want you to feel love
Before it disappears
'Cause we are more than we're not
So never fear to feel
Good when everything's wrong (love!)
And find some beauty there (not!)
'Cause all we ever are is brave

I LIKE TO SAY YOUR NAME

I like to say
your name

when you're
not here

turn you
into sound

conjure you out of
thin air

so that you appear
before me

dressed in sound
only

memory sketching in
the rest of you

as if sound
was just an outline

and love
colours you in

adding the voice last
so I can hear you say.

"Hello you..!"
and there you are

as present
as present

can be.

I like to say
your name

when you're
not there.

Is it safe to go out today?
I need to go, I have bills to pay.

Scared to venture out alone,
Scared to leave my son at home.

Is it safe to wander here?
These streets are filled with hate and fear.

This is the time to be aware,
that gunmen and danger lurk everywhere.

SUDDENLY,  A terrible sound!
and I feel my boy drop to the ground.
I pick him up and cradle him,
as his little world begins to dim.
A stray bullet struck him in his head,
and now my only child is dead.

So in that street we both now lay,
because I decided to go out today.

Love Lost

All those times we laughed together,
All those happy moments together.

All the secrets that we shared,
All the burdens that we bared.

All the friends that came and went,
All those flowers that you sent.

All these things we shared together,
All of them are lost forever.

The way you’d gently kiss my nose,
The love I felt from a single rose.

The kindness I received in your embrace,
The times you knew to give me space.

The way you looked into my heart,
The way you loved me from the start.

All this love died along with you,
And now my soul is dying too.

The darkness falls
All around.
No whisper heard
They make no sound.

Consuming light
Before their eyes.
Choking life
Illumination dies.

Spreading through their veins
Eating at their flesh.
Darkness is inside them
Awaiting certain death.

Nothing can be seen
Nothing can be heard.
All that can be felt
Is the cold dying earth.

The evil is among us all
Draining all our strength
It wont allow survival
Our lives have shortened length.

The darkness has fallen
Evil has won
We cannot be proud
Of what we have done.
I was aiming to describe our planet's future, if evil ever fully took over. and how we would all be to blame.

Coldness consumes him,
Freezing his heart.

Poison runs through him,
Stealing his life.

He has been kissed,
Kissed by death.

She feels no mercy,
She has no soul.

She hungers for life,
It’s hers to take.

Death is a woman,
With no emotion.

She feels nothing,
For the men she kisses.
