Grandma's on her death bed
while father's in Dallas
burning in the heat that is
well known for Texas
I know that I can't make it
and even if I did
she wouldn't remember me
or even worse she'd think I was Jerry
but grandpa departed a few years ago
I know, I know
it's what happens when you're old
yet I still recall
when she walked me to horses
and we fed them carrots
the old house and back porch
the dog and the heavy door
bells on shelves
and how it's all gone to hell
hey Grandma
I miss you
Daniel Magner 2014
I opened my eyes this
Morning,
I saw the world
As a collection of words.

"I see a tree"
A life of ruffled skin
Breathing in
So we may breath out,
Life comes & goes
Does it weep
No
Because life carries on

"I see my wife"
She Smiles
Warmth
I see in her eyes
And I know why
I Love her
She has a heart
That beats both
Life
&
Love
She shares the beats equally as one.

"I take a drive"
My child plays with the wind
Through an open window,

Me happy,
Of the innocence
That she finds in the wind
A plaything to enjoy,
*I Awoke And The World Changed
another day, another hell
the torment continues
the torture begins anew
the night brings death
the day brings a new start
for the demons to have their fun
my heart, my mind
thats their playground
i yearn for peace
i seek the day when when death is all they leave
Yesterday it rained
and i fell asleep
the pondering tears of the rain
filled my windows with music
pouring anger from the sky
that made me feel at peace
it rained yesterday
and i fell in love
with the mysterious being who made it rain
and gave me a new reason to live again
the cold ploppy drops
filling me with calm.
it rained yesterday
and the whole town felt it
they all felt the pain
that kept on building itself
the all felt the shame
and the misery
they all felt the life
that was taken away.
it rained yesterday
and i knew i was right
perfect for me
and nobody else.
it rained yesterday
the wind spoke to me
the clouds disappeared
finally freeing the sky.
it rained yesterday
didn’t you see it rain
didn't you hear the beating
the drumming and the lyrics
didn’t you free the freedom?
it rained yesterday
and i felt united
i felt at ease
and the world was mine
the darkened night
filled with horrors and shadows.
it rained yesterday
and it still rains today
in my mind and my heart
as i stumble the halls
clutching my hips
so i remain on my feet.
it rained yesterday
not yet today
so i let my tears rain
and i didn’t let it fall
i just let it flow.
it rained yesterday
and i felt so happy
and so at home.
it rained yesterday
and i ran to the streets
no shoes and a tank top
dancing and laughing
without a care in the world
and nothing but peace.
it rained yesterday
i was happy yesterday
For all of us who love the rain.

hailey
like the night you come,
come to me like the sea comes
never to stay, yet
destined to return
dark and dangerous
i watch, i wait
always my love
the sea you are to me

  and
Woke with Lungs
Frosted Autumn.

Sun buried beneath my Skin
Washes Jack kissed lips.

Without You
