Give me a minute
To read the stars
Lamenting in their stories
Their laboured twinkling far and sparse

Give me this moment
To stumble and swoon
My branches reaching for
The faraway moon

Give me a while
To be one with the universe
Hear the colliding planets
As they spill their mournful verse

Give me some time
To plot my rightful place
Within my uncharted galaxy
And collapsing space...
streets are quieter than ever;
stars, brighter than ever

at its heart,
silence wanders the night
until it shines bright

the sky is silent, dark and blue
the moon, its jewel
breeze whispers in the street
the truth we failed to greet:

“our path is ought to be hard;
for there's no light
without the dark”
Hold it with nothing
only behold with the eyes!
Lo, this crescent Moon:
The heaven's smile in the night!

It’s the discovery made
walking down the black moon.
Without a light in the sight
as if walking blindfolded
but didn't go into the blue.

Took a trip into the matrix
without squaring the circle.
With no pattern, no more decimals of pi
undefined by design but found the Moon!
Autumn’s brusque wind slices its way through the remnants of summer,
painting maples in hues of brilliant oranges and reds.
Long shadows of late September streak across the last blades of grass,
as fall’s stark contrasts light the afternoon.

The seasonal wind breathes cold with the smell of autumn in the air.
Autumn’s brusque wind slices its way through the remnants of summer,
while cottony clouds in a sea of cornflower blue, slowly slide out of view,
chased down by v’s of geese as they race across the sun.

Helicopter seeds line the sidewalks, green and gold, as others float on the wind,
down to join with cones and acorns awaiting next year’s crop.
Autumn’s brusque wind slices its way through the remnants of summer.
Crows, harbingers of the winter to come, make their sad calls.

Squirrels pause to pack their cheeks with Fall’s fare and scurry to secret caches,
their bulging cheeks filled with fallen nuts and acorns.
Fall greets me with a kiss as summer bows to its chill, as
Autumn’s brusque wind slices its way through the remnants of summer.

Such a sight my heart remembers,
When heavy boughs rained autumn embers
So many warmly painted trees
Creating mosaics in the breeze
The leaves were dancing toward the ground,
They twirled and circled all around
We held our hands up to the sky
Caressing them as they flew by
Flickering through the smudge of grey,
Little fires to brighten our cloudy day
We watched them land on their bed of green
Creating a most resplendent scene,
A quilt of yellows, oranges, and reds
Woven from such brilliant threads
We gazed upon that lovely sight,
Until we saw the edge of night
And then we bid our friends farewell
And left them laying where they fell
This is a poem about a memory I hold very dear.
