blond is
poetic to exhaustion.
cohesively soulful.
progressive but not obnoxiously ambitious.
euphorically sinister of nostalgia.
naked with a rebelliously warm tone.
tastefully sour like an onion.

I prefer women with piercingly sad eyes
with a story that'd reduce Hemingway to tears
the confidence to carry that pain around attracts me
but if I make you happy
would it be wrong to break you
just to be attracted to the pain I've caused you?

I'd rather be alone and longing for someone
than to have promised my heart to the wrong person
when the right one comes along

The world is made up of 30% land, 70% ocean
We shared common ground, we dove in with emotion
If love had a sound, ours would smell potent
Bound to be *******, chopped up in slow motion

Set sail on this quest, you kept me afloat
No life vest, rockin' the boat
The world was cold, I used you to cope
Soaked in your love, you gave me a crown
I tore my walls down completely aware I could drown

Maybe that was my biggest mistake
My love for you got me deep in this dark place
It's like you can't breathe, you can't be
Imprisoned in thought, drowning in memory

Feelings manifested, years invested, wasted
I need detachment, time reimbursement
But it's all mathematical, this was the quotient

Find this in the fiction category, my heartbreak allegory
written Sept. 2013 // getting over a 4 year relationship was one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with at the time

I've spent my short life building walls for a living
walls that hide how I feel & keep me from feeling
brick by brick I feel as safe as I am trapped in my own confusion

The overwhelming depths of your womanhood
Feeling trapped and  burdened by your decisions
Living in the lap of luxury of your own selfishness
Actually thinking you could live for yourself
Or pave your own way with grace and dignity
But you are much more than who you've been credited
Those who doubt you fuel your ambition
You are the moon lighting your own darkness
You are the roots of all that has bloomed
You are the beacon of wisdom of all your past lovers
None of whom will ever understand the entirety of your beauty

the sun sinks into the mountains
a vast consuming darkness
another day has gone past
another flip of the hourglass

where did the time go
last I remember I was 4
hiding to be seeked
unaware of the passing weeks

but now that I have aged
I'm hesitant to turn the page
knowing where it will lead
precious memories left to bleed
