As perfectly okay as it is to go with the flow,
I'll grow upside down,
Color outside the lines,
And explode like a mighty oak filled with paint,
Struck by lightning from the ground up.

Why do people always look to fix what is broken?
Stalled vehicles still rotate and tilt
On the Earth's axis,
Thousands of miles an hour,
And I still work,
Worthy of trips around the sun,
So please don't scrap me at the first sight
Of what you see as failure.

I'll grow upside down.

You're there for me in ways
I cannot yet fully explain
I may not know your name
But our passion is the same

Let me share with you
What I feel, too
It took some time before I knew
This path we share, should be pursued

Through these words
We express our thoughts
Our fears, our desires
When our tongue's in knots

We doubt their power
Question its effect
Yet we continue to write
Adamant to perfect

The mark of an artist
Dedicated, through and through
Piecing together stories of beauty and heartache
For those unable to

We share a connection
Most won't understand
Old souls, storytellers
Stranger, take my hand

And remember, my friend
To believe in your words
From what I've read
It's imperative they're heard

I looked in the mirror today
And saw three of me
Who I was, who I am, and who I wanted to be

I brushed a stranger's hair and teeth
Until my brain started turning and realized
It
                               was
                                                                  me.

Who I was told who I am to be who I wanted to be
Without a reason or a plan and who I am is who I am
Until the seconds keep fleeting me

There isn't room in here for the three of me
Two visions showing one a life of who I'm supposed to be...
Did you see, do I see, will I see that I'm free to make the choices
That define my time?

My past is a mime etched in my image mimicking my future untold.
Will I be fine, or will I fold?

There isn't room in here for the three of me
Who I was, who I am, and who I wanted to be.

And if you are to love,
Love as the moon loves.
It doesn't steal the night,
It only unveils the beauty of the dark.

And if you are to love,
Love as the rain loves.
It doesn't wet the bodies,
It only washes the sad dirt of the souls.

And if you are to love,
Love as the wind loves.
It doesn't drift away,
It only cleanse you to the core by invading through each pore.

And if you are to love,
Love as the sun loves.
It doesn't radiates heat,
It only pours its warmth on you to enlighten your way.

And if you are to love,
Love as the star loves.
It doesn't delightfully twinkles,
It only reminds you that not even death can separate two hearts.

And so forth,
if you are to love
Love as the whole universe
& not just a part of it.

You're like the moon.
Some nights you show your full beauty.
Just being present for everyone to appreciate and see.

Some nights you get anxious,
You hide a bit of yourself from the world.
Worried that people are tired of you.

And some nights you don't show yourself at all.
You stay in darkness, weeping.
Feeling better if you were just a secret.
