I walk along the paths of cobble amongst the dim street light,
An elegant choreography of colours fills the amber sky as my mind drifts away.
In the distance, the symphony of the wind plays.
I hear its allegro, its presto -- it is a masterpiece for the senses.

I stroll for what seems like an eternity, thinking about that elusive feeling
Of a white hand caressing my shoulder --
I stop.

The gates open in front of me.

A golden glow dispels my foggy breath as the sky fills with cinders and dust.
The light calls my name as I stand there petrified;
What was golden turns dark orange.
My eyes refocus. I wake up.

I feel soft embrace of the rain.
The effervescent smell of petrichor fills my nostrils as darkness consumes my thoughts.
The penultimate burden is the least cumbersome, for the most daunting one trails the contour of my head;
A white hand emerging behind me.

I stumbled through the cold dark streets, the wind caressing
My bare, blue skin.
I am exhausted, barely standing as the ****** is near.
I kneel before a riveting sight - the gleams of the dim moonlight
Cast its rays upon a bed of flowers.
The pallid petals brush my skin as I gasp for air.

It is frozen.

A symphony plays - my final chords
The songs of the angels of oblivion
As they sing in unison
Their unspoken words.
The haunting melody of a soprano chills my fractured spine.

My head hurts.

In this artificial world of selfish habits.
Her intentions were laid bare.
Stinging sensations linger as she laid her eggs in my head.

Merely an empty shell of her former self
She cut the roots that held her in place.
Desperate struggles,
Unanswered screaming,
Crawling her way towards me.

This was merely a realm I created,
An illusion I cast as the rose-tinted vision turned grey.
There is no light where the sun never existed.

The eggs hatch as I lay writhing in pain
The once vivid flowerbed drowning in blood and tears
As a monster laid motionless in front of me.
Where the moonlight once cast its light on but a barren field.

It is inside of me.

As the war has taken
Our king from the throne
As I, the light, am burdened
To hold my father's corpse
The soft voice of the wind
Caresses the rotten flesh
Of those whose light
Burned brighter than the sun

As the sun sleeps
The moon calls forth
The dances of the night

As the sun awakens
Be it the darkness
Be it the daylight

These ruins are my home
Who guide my light to the world

As the wind drags along
The ashes of the light
As everything was taken
And murdered after the fight
The voice of the wind
Is harsh, loud and cold
The remains of them
Whose name hold a reminiscence

As the sun sleeps
The moon calls forth
The rituals of the night

As the sun awakens
Be it the darkness
Be it the daylight

The light moves forward
And guide me back home
30th October 2017 - The beginning of my ventures into poetry.

Do I enjoy it? Probably.
Would I keep writing? Maybe.

Dedicated to a close friend

Low in the shallow land
He sleeps in the soft sand
The blowing of the wind on his face
And he sleeps so peacefully

So happily and bright
In the silent sunlight
Bathing in the warmth
On its face a little smile

Makes you think for a while
How it all went wrong
Had your soul ******
By the screen of light

The people he had to fight
To find his rest in hate
And endless debates of fate
Whether he got what he should

And nobody would
Care for his past
And only see what's left
In the shallow land

Where the soft sand
Slowly turns red
From invisible blood
The friend becomes a fiend

And the fire in his heart
Grows strong with hate
As he accepts his fate
He won't be there any longer

The fire makes his stronger
Destroys what he should be
Destroys the things he sees
Submerges with the sand

As he's broken, and collides
No more fighting, and he dies
Releases from his fright
That he won't lose anymore

It was cold and rainy that night
Little raven hops by
Amongst the setting sun, the golden glow
Vanishes, to a black ocean

Consumed by the black tide
It sets off
And submerges
With the darkness

Fly away, be gone, little raven
Little phoenix in full glory
Die, drown in the darkness
Nobody cares about you

Die, drown in the darkness
Vanish away in the emptiness
Where nobody even knows about you
And you are alone

But one day
The sun will shine upon you
The cold black
Turns into gold

We're just human
We don't exist at all
But still leave a trace
In this ocean

We're flying like ravens in the dark
Without being seen
Until the sun will shine
And shed light on our graceful flight

Maybe we don't see it
Maybe we don't care
The rain keeps on falling
It was cold and rainy that night
