I wonder if you'll get this message.

Lost in a vast ocean of words,
Inside a tiny heart-shaped box,
Kept secret in a code,
Ends up in your hands.

Until you figure it out.
What's the message?

Maybe one day,
we'll be standing in the kitchen,
making a grocery list.

Maybe one day,
we'll be sitting outside in the grass,
reading our favorite books.

Maybe one day,
you'll be holding my hand,
as we drive back home.

Maybe one day,
I'll wake up to a reality,
where these dreams came true,
and the sound of your heartbeat,
is the first thing I'll hear in the morning,
lulling me back to sleep.
Kinda rusty.

We met
in a half remembered dream.
With clouds beneath our feet,
and stars in an amethyst sky,
yet you were the realest thing.

And I wonder
if dreams could come true,
and if it was an old memory,
perhaps from another lifetime.

But until then
it's what you'll remain to me,
a wonderful mystery.
Inspired by a story I read involving someone having dreams from his past and all the bittersweetness that come with it.

why do flowers bloom
only to wither
in the end?
I've read somewhere sometime ago that 20 is the age you start losing friends and I'm scared. I don't have many to lose.

I've written and read
poems about the stars
and how they were
so fascinating,
empowering
and ultimately,
unreachable.

I've heard stories
about angels and saints;
Their goodness,
nobility and purity,
serving as epitomes
of what Man could
and should be.

But the saints,
they were once sinners
and there are angels
who fell from grace.
Stars that turned
into black holes,
nothing is safe.

Falling is inevitable,
even for the untouchable,
and what we believe to be
unreal and ethereal.
She said, "Not even the stars are safe in the sky."

Sun and moon, day and night,
Light and dark, good and evil.
They say God created everything
for a reason,
so what of the Devil?

I've heard stories,
of witches and werewolves.
But the Devil,
they say he walks among us,
living in the shadows,
and speaking in whispers.

They say God created everything
for a reason,
that He made man in His image,
so why did He put the Devil in me?
This is for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. The Man Without Fear.

You are your own universe, vast and infinite, possessing powerful forces you never knew you had.

You have the fabric of time in your in arms, the energy of gravity in your hands and the power of the big bang in your fingertips rendering the endless beauty of your cosmos.

Your mind is a galaxy, wise and never stops thinking, filled with wonder and curiosity while yearning for the unknown.

There are stars in your eyes forming your constellations; Cassiopeia here, Aquarius on your fingertips and Andromeda in your palms.

Your heartbeat sounds like home.

Your laughter reflects the crescents of moons and the luminosity of a thousand suns and your flustered cheeks are a haze of stardust and memories.

Good ones, the kind that you want to remember and never forget.

You are made up of everything beautiful.

I would shed off my skin if I could,
reshape my bones if I could,
replace my mind if I could,
only to bloom like the flower
you wanted me to be.

I wish I was like everybody else,
because then,
maybe I could have been
               more normal,
                      more bearable,
                            more acceptable,
in your eyes.

Even the brightest stars,
The ones people write poetry about,
The ones that fascinate all of human life,
Burn out until no trace is left,
And those on Earth who waited for it to come around every decade,
Get bored of seeing the same dying light.
It gets forgotten,
Forgotten in time and space.

I think I found you between the clouds and underneath the stars.
I thought I found out how rainbows formed in the sky and how the stars shine at night.
I found value in your smile, white pearls with the tax of an arrow through my heart.
The payment was falling back to earth along with this memory of you.
I thought you were joking and you'd never let me slip.
I woke up back again in a place I didn't miss.
I thought I fell for an angel up in the sky,
But then again I have really sore eyes.

Sometimes I wish I ruled the skies up above.

Because then I could find you amongst all the people in the crowds,
I could shine the light you yearn for in your darkest times,
I could give you warmth to help you withstand the lonely cold winter nights,
I could move the thunderstorm clouds above your head so that they will rain on someone else's parade instead,
I could ask the Sun to do me the favour of taking care of the flowers by your windowsill when you're away,
I could bid the stars to appear in the obsidian sky perfectly in your sight,
I could tell the Moon, your old friend, to be by your side when I cannot.

Because there are instances when the world weighs heavy on my shoulders as much as it does on yours.

But most of the time,
I just wish to end your sleepless nights and make your hopeful days begin.

"Lost boy, lost boy, where are you going?"
To the edge of our galaxy; a place for forgetting.
Second star to the right and straight on until morning,
Where time is still and reality is not coming.

With a watercan in hand and a trowel in another
The Sun in the sky, I come home to my garden of flowers
Watching them grow under sprinkles of crystal showers
Not seeking for returns like an unconditional lover.

As the Moon takes its reign and my garden falls asleep
The stars offer their presence, a company I'd keep
I tell them my secrets and they listen to me
To my uttered words of despair, faith and hopeless dreams.

I'm a prisoner of my mind and so I ran away
To a place called Neverland where forever I'd stay
Away from the world and my careless mistakes
Where my heart is full and not going astray.

not what it seemed
Myka Jul 2019
In the palm of my hand,
I had a dream and a reality
and both were you.

You put the brightest stars in my eyes,
The most wonderful constellations.
But little did I know I'd be blinded with how much they shined.

You made flowers grow in my lungs;
Roses, carnations and camellias.
They were beautiful, but they suffocated me all the same.

You gave my heart wings to soar,
To fly with a feeling so light.
They gave up nonetheless when I flew to to close to your Sun.

Stars cross, uncross then cross again.
Waves come to shore and back to sea.
Winds pass by over and over,
And clocks won't seem to ever stop.

You change and I remain.
You go and I stay.
And in the end, I'm alone again.
