Respect for a different opinion
and a mind to accept a different perspective
can be all it takes to move forward

The innocence in your eyes
Freedom in your laugh
Your smile makes me forget
The troubles
The pain
The sorrow
You feel like one of my oldest friends
Yet you're probably the youngest
I know we rock to the same beat
And when I'm with you
Our jam is always playing
Two old souls met again
On this plane of existence
Across time and space
Through the ages
Against colossal odds
Against societal norms
A connection that cannot be broken
Forever
Always
You, I love innocently

If I had a gun right now.
I would aim it to the sky.
I would declare the world to **** itself.

If I was in love right now.
I would kiss them goodbye.
I would declare my love to them.

If I had billions right now.
I would buy my mother a house.
I would declare myself broke.

If I had friends right now.
I would share with them my secrets.
I would declare my betrayal.

If I was happy right now.
I would be at ease.
I would declare my tranquility.
To all the bitter "if's"

She says the ghost of you is insanity,
that your soul is welcome breath
upon my loneliness,
a manifestation derived from
a mysterious noise
or a distant calling of my name.

The breeze makes me cold
sitting here on the porch where we last met.
I feel like my soul is lost,
whispering words into the darkness,
thinking you can hear me.

There's a streetlight on the corner
that shines dimly upon falling snow,
disguising it like piles of diamonds,
or fragile tears made of glass;
shed only upon release of knowledge
too full of truth to be denied.

Passing cars are seldom,
people clutch their coats around them
tighter,
walking through the alleyways.
Reminds me of the way we hide
ourselves within ourselves
clutching, grasping
holding on,
folding our feelings around us like coats.

And my only consolation
is the sharp intake of oxygen and nicotine
merged into one
to live and to die all in a single breath.

This lingering ritual of watching
nights pass,
like a shuffling of cards front to back,
blows away the memories
in dusty swirls of smoke,
leaving the entirety of your essence
instilled in one moment.

She says the ghost of you is insanity,
that your soul is welcome breath
upon my loneliness,
a manifestation derived from
a mysterious noise,
or a distant calling of my name.
poetic fractured retractions
   gnashing night prayers,
scribbling braille,
     written sideways
 dipped amid holy water's retention,
compromising statements
     of disbelief's proclamation
spinning music the color
     of nakedly sick ******, yet
burnished souls keep on ticking
   half past total trade-offs
in a spoonful of smoky reflections
         sans sugar's acid trip,
anointed of rose red
        ****** false pretenses
dancing off center
       in disillusioned
   pirouettes of pseudo redemption,
whirling out of control on
         staged tapestry's loftiness
surrendered ballet slippers
        in blistered half promises,
as twisted metaphors sprightly
       tuned out spun anomalies
below birds on a rusty wire tweeting
     admissions of blue's cobalt execution,
rendered inky alterations' inquisitions
        'pon pedaled pink fluff profundity,
exhaling paroxysms of engaged poetry
    in vehemently enraged deliverance,
naught one is ever as they seem
  through pigmented film 'neath
    figment's imagined looking glass
           of ingratiated grand delusions

When in her presence,
I humbly drop to mine knees....
Not just because she's mi amour,
But because she's mine queen...

And whilst holding up by mine forearm's
I seeith her night-gown floweth,
As the tiera on her head
Maketh me fall when it gloweth...
