Love is a secret
One you must hide
For once others know of it
Your love will surely die
They’ll rip you apart
Hem after hem
Then put you back together
Just to do it again
This is a poem I wrote last year, I’m just now finding the courage to post my words.

I wanted to write about love
About it’s wondrous abilities
About it’s way to make you feel whole
About the way it consumed me
But instead, I found emptiness
A bottle of tears
Shattered pieces
And blood splattered everywhere
I found your face
That was once full of love
Telling me that it wasn’t me
All along it was you
I found the girl
Who prayed for you
The girl who wanted a soulmate
Who didn’t know she could lose them
Who didn’t know she could lose you
And you’ll say you’re not gone
That we’re still friends
But the world isn’t that easy
And sometimes I want this to end
You opened the door
And made me change the locks
Because no matter how much I love you
I simply lost

I never knew a gentle touch
A warm caress
Until you
And you are my favorite touch
You are what the birds sing about
What beauty is truly made of
When I look at you
I see dimension
I see my future
I see my life
