The stars will not let me forget that I miss you.

The stubborn ones shine brighter than before as if to intimidate me.

I sit and wish you're staring at the same ones I am.

And I sip a little hope from my glass.

Because the stars will not let me forget that I miss you.
How do you reconnect with someone you left behind?

I'm worried that
I spend so much
time thinking
about life.

That I'll
run out
of time
to live
it.

Words. One by one. March from my mouth,
Whispered but amplified by the silence,
Hoping to shed the skin gifted to me by nature.

Each reply slices like a dozen razor blades,
I'd hoped to be in the bath; easier to clean the blood,
Red covers, covered by a newer shade.

Have you ever cried yourself to sleep?
If you Have, then you'll know that the delicate pitter patter of rain on the window doesn't make you feel as secure as you once thought.

Juliet woke up with a broken heart
Her skin was pale and her eyes were dark
Her bed was filled with her cries from the night
She fell asleep with no-one by her side

Romeo woke up with smile on his face
He had pockets of freedom for himself to embrace
His bed was filled with hopes and lies
It's gonna take some time to realise;
They were too young to settle down
Just jilted lovers in a jilted town
It's a shame because he's older now
But she's moved away

--------------------------------------------

Juliet woke up with a new attitude
She thought it's time that things improve
She took a walk into town that night
She found some love in a strangers eyes

Romeo woke up with a strong headache
He'd realised that his *** and love were fake
He wanted to go back to Juliet
He offered gold but she couldn't forget;
They were too young to settle down
Jilted lovers in a jilted town
It's a shame 'cause he's older now
But she's moved away, she's moved away

Clouds they tease me
Make me believe that
You're still out there
Somewhere better

When they clear
They leave me wanting
More than your name
On a lifeless gravestone

I wanted to rule the world
With you by my side
Dreams come so fast
Then fade away, at a steady pace
Love and cherish
The memories left
On my doorstep
Out in the rain, I hope that heaven has gained; you

Scare away, my dullest days
Staring at a blank page, hoping for a rescue
I'm inside, my lonely eyes
Staring at the brighter side, feeling like I'm lost sometimes

Breathing in, the leaves outside
Maybe I can shine as bright, as the stars that make up half our nights
Believe me when, I tell my friends,
You're the center to the maze I made, when I locked my heart into the cage

I go back to, my safe room, and hide away until the sun comes
Shinning, onto, my faith.
Because I believe, I believe in, you and me.

Watching you dress under the lights,
Another bottle by my side,
I know where you've been,
I know where you've been.

I need a little more serotonin,
If I'm to keep it all in,
Because I know where you've been,
Yes I know where you've been.

I'm still scared to find out why,
You turn your back at night,
When it's getting colder,
We should be shoulder to shoulder.

Staring at a blank wall,
Don't know what you're thinking of,
But it's getting colder,
We should be shoulder to shoulder.

No silver screen quotation will show the caveat of love.
It's wrapped in idealism and wishful thinking.
The atmosphere fills with melancholy from the dark side of a heart.
I don't want love and it's pledge; to hold me forever.
I want to couple on the deepest level of my soul.

You think you're so clever, Because nobody has ever, Shut you down.

But I can see through this smoke, you think I didn't notice your,
Eyes turn away.

The lights are always shinning, revealing where you're hiding. There's no escape.

Lost in the tyrants, I'm just speaking my mind but, You threw me away.

What words do you hear when I speak?
And what words have you rendered weak?
What will you do, when the truth, leaves my lips?
Will you stay?

Thunder and lightning,
We were running and hiding,
Redemption is bitter,
When we were lovers in glitter.

What lies have you heard since I left?
And what lies have you spread yourself?
What will you do, when the truth, comes to bite you?
Will you stay?

No more thunder and lightning,
No more running and hiding,
The day is turning grey,
Darling will you stay?

Don't you dare give me the cold shoulder, because I've told you, I don't like it when you hold it all in.
Information's my key, so don't keep it from me, cause honestly, I want to know what's in your head.
And are you aching, constantly breaking, faking, and I don't know what I'm supposed to believe.
The truth is in your eyes, I don't want to see you cry, simply lies to cover up your privacy.

But baby don't you wish that we....

Could talk.

I once knew a butterfly.
Her beauty knew no bounds.
She glided through the air and encapsulated my every thought.
Her delicate wings flapped away any discomfort.
But I was naive and turned away from the butterfly.
I was young and I wanted to see what other creatures the world had to offer.

I then knew an ox.
She was strong.
She faced up to challenges most would cower from.
However she didn't realise how heavy handed she was.
She broke things without meaning or realisation.
Including my heart. I missed the butterfly.

Finally I knew a fox.
She was pretty.
Her paws dragged mud through the house.
You tend to forget the sharp teeth when they're hidden by a smile.
Very clever creatures.
I found that foxes are sly,  I missed the butterfly.

I missed the butterfly. But she had flown away.
Her majestic flight continued even with my back turned.
I didn't realise at the time but the butterfly,
Was stronger than the ox. And Prettier than the fox.
But I missed the butterfly. She had flown away..
Like the life of PI up in here haha!

I lay unspoken
I sit unbroken
I walk unopened
I run from emotion
Sometimes silence is the only option.

I turn to comfort in the smoke I exhale.
Try not to panic when I'm feeling this way.
I see the light but you're well out of reach.
I try to surface but the waters too deep.

We walk together, through the broken nights
Come out in different streets, under different lights
I'm all for loving, let the love ignite
What do we do when the candle stops burning bright?

Do we let go or do we hold on, my love.
Do we give up or stick to this love, my friend.
See the tears in my eyes, as I turn to stone.
What do we do when the candle stops burning bright?

When the big bad cloud comes covering up your sky
And the rain falls down to make you drown and I'm
Nowhere to be seen, just a sunken dream in your eyes
Have a little patience if you don't believe

'Cause you can say that stars aren't made of fire
And you can stand up and call me a liar
But don't you ever doubt my love
You can say there ain't no water in the sea
You can say that you just don't believe
But don't you ever doubt my love

You'll never notice
That my heart lays heavy on my chest
And that makes it harder
Jordan Ray Aug 2022
You reached out to me again
And I felt your touch
Like a gentle shower to a wilted rose

You looked at me again
And I felt complete
Like the final puzzle piece slotted into place

You embraced me again
And I felt a delightful glow
Like the clouds had finally parted

You kissed me again
And I felt my shoulders unburden
Like nothing could bring me down

When morning set in like our initials to bark
And final call had sounded
The flurry of soft moments formatted into dreams
Retreated back into their sanctuary

I wilted,
Appeared empty,
The clouds drew like curtains
And I hit the cold callous reality
I had a dream in which you showed me how great life could be.

When you're dreaming, you know that feeling you get when you hit the floor after falling from a height?

That's what I get, everytime I see your smile.
Jordan Ray Apr 2019
Walking home at night,
Your hand was holding mine,
I don't ever want to leave your side.

I turn to you and smile,
Because just for a while,
I don't feel any pain inside.

Where have you been?
I've been waiting so long;
To write you this song.
Lyrics from a song I wrote.
Jordan Ray Oct 2018
You're keeping secrets under your pillow,
They slither through the gaps in the duck feathers,
Until they reach the cotton barrier,
Trying to claw out at your head,
Ever wondered why you get those migraines?

You've tricked yourself into wearing a halo,
Crocodile tears with an alligators grin,
As fake as the make-up you wear,
A smile and a twirl,
Is that all you think it takes to fool a crowd?

You're not an angel, you can barely fly,
You may see clouds, but your feet are on the ground,
It's only your head that's where you think you are,
Your wings are sown on, and the stitches are weak,
How many have you tricked in total?

You think you've won but I can see the devil in your eyes.
A lingering dark stare, puffy and blood shot,
Claws at the ready, tearing into flesh that knows you well,
A war raging on your tongue when you've been found out,
You think I'm docile to every thought you have?

You seem to forget.
