Saint Jimmy
I write this thinking about the girl I love, stood out in the pouring rain.

A tear rolls down my cheek as I type away on my phone.
This pathetic fallacy makes me smile,
for the dreadful irony

and i have never really understood why i hate luggage.
why i barely own handbags,
and would much rather fit the necessities in my purse.
why school didn't seem so bad if i had less books on my back.

i had never really understood why i hated so much baggage.

until i realised that it was because i already had all of me,
to carry.

"They smiled and smiled
With all rainbow colours,
Exuding felicity upon
The skies.

(A Classical Cinquain)

Dear fellow poets at hello poetry, From the core of my heart i dedicate this cinquain to all of you who spare your precious time as to share such exquisite poems. Your work is truly meritorious.

Otherwise if im to bring more light to the above poem, a classical cinquain is a five-line poem that was inveted by an American poet known as Adelaide Crapsey who took her inspiration from Japanese Haiku and Tanka. Over the years, there have been variations of the cinquains such as "The Didactic cinquain"

Below is the structure of the classical cinquain:

Line 1: The sentence must bear 2 syllables
Line 2: The sentence must bear 4 syllables
Line 3: The sentence must bear 6 syllables
Line 4: The sentence must bear 8 syllables
Line 5: The sentence must bear 2 syllables

#cinquains are particularly vivid in their imagery and are meant to convey a certain mood or emotion.

Blue was the deepest see
Blue as the sky above
Sending waves form a far
Crashing her eroded heart

Loud was the sound they made
Loud as a lion roar
Broke her dream into two
As they sneaked in through the door

Purple was the scarf she wore
Purple as a summer night
Made her shine bright as star
Shadowing the moonlight

Cloaked in dark
They climbed the bed
Creeping slowly
In her head

Erased her pain
As she slept
Burned her thoughts
Made them melt

The next day
When morning broke
She was free
As she woke

She found her peace at last
With the spirits of the past

This feeling...
Heavy...
Like a wreath bearing down my neck.
Every fibre in me seem to be at loggerheads.

My heart...
Pounding.
Each beat is a hammer
sledging away at my saneness.

My breaths...
Premature and short.
Inconsistent.
I respire full but with punctured lungs.
Lazy dreams of far away night
Amorous embraces by candle light
Tango desires of bodies of two
For I am nothing without you

Memories fade of the past
We believed it would last
But now, what can I do
For I am nothing without you

Lovers come and lovers go
You're the one I got to know
All the good times we went through
Now I am nothing without you
