to say that you've changed,
without her to witness is
futile, meaningless.

I tried to **** my
feelings for you. Instead, my
heart's feelings killed me.

Flesh turns to stone and
she fakes the way she holds you,
fall for empty words.

All we are, are just
broken hearts in broken shells
in a living hell.

A great tragedy
is two lovers becoming
strangers once again.

The relationship
was a gun fight, I brought a
knife and got murdered.

I opened the door,
showed you my entire world and
let you destroy me.

I remember waking up early,
hours before dawn.
Rush to the kitchen,
make sandwiches and yawn.

Pilfer the keys to my mother's car,
and make my way to you.
Your dormitory from my house
was a journey far.

The way your sleepy face would light up
as you came down the stairs,
our eyes would meet,
smile and greet.

In the darkness at the beach,
I parked unobtrusively and out of reach.
Your head rested on my shoulder,
we sat in silence, communicating without words.

The way my hands tangled in yours,
the smell of the morning air,
fishermen by the coast
scavenging with their flash lights.

Then the sun would peek it's weary head,
above the horizon - the night was officially dead.
As my sight adjusted,
I would glance at eternity contained in your eyes.

For a second, that one second we'd never get back,
the atmosphere was just enough,
The sun began to flicker,
and it was just enough bright.

I still feel your hands
on my face, your memories
flowing through my veins.

The sounds of speedboats racing,
white, foamy lines in the water, tracing.

The stars above peer through the clouds,
spectating through mysterious shrouds.

The hustle and bustle of the city - died down,
by the waterfront - an absence of sound.

Not a man, woman nor child,
cat, dog nor creature wild.

Alone with my thoughts,
almost distraught.

You cross my mind
bitter, mean and unkind.

Epiphany strikes and I realize,
you were nothing more than a wolf in disguise.

I wake up from fevered dreams,
filled with woe and empathy.

How am I to get any rest,
when you haunt me in my sheets?

Everything feels bleak,
nothing's ever as it seems.

I count all and every single sheep,
but I still can't ******' sleep.

Those times where I regret waking from slumber,
because dreams appear better than waking life.

Lived, died, bled,
for all words left unsaid.

How could you say you need space - right to my face,
and then walk away?

Nothing is ever
as it seems - people leave and
you can't do a thing.

In a city full of millions,
I found myself alone.

Whilst standing next to her,
I felt an aching in my bones.

"I'll keep the façade up,
until you leave." she mutters

I had so much to say,
but all that surfaced were stutters.

Do you know what is worse
than fleeting beauty or life?

The fact that once upon a time,
I wanted to make her my wife.

She loves Korean cuisine,
and anything lathered with cheese.

It takes an age to get her makeup on,
but it's well worth the patience.

Secluded tables at Starbucks,
with laptops on YouTube - surfing.

She adores floral collared button-ups,
and understated slip-on sneakers.

She doesn't have a favorite colour,
she's beautifully indecisive like that.

Sometimes rompers, skater-dresses,
and tanned leather wedges.

Forehead kisses and cuddles on the couch,
denounce your love for her and vouch.

Open the doors for her, smile,
and kiss her hand whilst you rack up the miles.

Spend late nights on Skype,
indulging in the internet's hype.

She loves to sleep-in when schedule permits,
play console games and watch trending flicks.

Don't forget to bid her goodnight,
Kiss her cheek and hug her tight.

Gaze into her beautiful eyes,
which bears more stars than the skies.

Promise me that you'll treat her swell,
and I will wish you well.

Just for one night,
could you forget about him?

Take my hand,
follow me into the night,

have not a worry,
for everything'll be alright.

Let me hold you close,
press your cheek against my nose,

travel a million miles away,
in any direction - come what may.

Anywhere, anywhere but here,
I'll be fine - so long as you're near.

Home is anywhere you are,
stay with me, don't wander off far.

I will sing you to sleep,
or stay up with you to count sheep.

You'll always be my favorite what-if.

At the edge of Summer,
The wind was frigid the night we met.

It was never my intent to hurt myself,
falling that hard for you.

Your eyes set to ****,
a smile so irresistible.

Why did you cast your charm on me?
Had me feeling emotions I never knew possible?

Opened myself up like a wondrous map,
only to get knocked down.

Destroyed beyond comprehension,
beyond economical repair.

I've not a regret - I can't possibly forget,
I only wish I guarded myself that much more.

You were an inferno,
and I was mercilessly burned by you.

to prematurely feel
death, is to see the spark fade,
feel them slip away.

She taught me what true compassion felt like,
showed me avenues of life I never knew existed,
feelings that I never thought possible.

She gave me a glimpse into something so undeniable,
yet, at the same time, surreal beyond comprehension
- nothing was impossible wherever she existed.

She gave me a taste of forever,
a peek into the window of her soul,
and serendipity from her lips.

With her, I was a lion with the largest mane,
the first man on the moon,
the pickaxe that first struck gold in California.

Higher than high - cannabis had nothing on this,
the way her eyes glittered is something I'll miss.

She showed me what eternity could've been like,
and left devastation in her wake.
