Your thoughts touch me more than careful fingers,
your love warms me more than our bodies entwined.
Your voice in my mind slowly dwindles and lingers,
your whispers in memory forever enshrined.
A look stirs me more than hugs ever could,
yet your hugs are so perfectly moving.
A smile fills me more than kisses would,
yet your kiss is so heartily soothing.
I perceive you for more than what you show,
I can peer right into your heart.
I see fears and joys for no one to know,
I want to share them, and never be apart.

Never assume that a tiger, raised by a tiger, somehow gets to avoid being a tiger also.

I’ve often stared at the beauty of the ocean,
careless smashing, timeless motion.
I wonder why it draws my soul,
makes me feel empty, makes me feel whole.
A deep feeling it possesses,
violent vigour, calm caresses.
It took a while for me to see:
my heart inside, is the sea.

One wave isn't a tide, neither is a moment when it's still,
oceans will remain oceans, whether winds are calm or shrill.
Boulders standing firmly, their foundations never moving,
the songs of timeless seas, forever keep on soothing.
Washing away the sorrow, of tearing cliff faces,
only centuries or more, showing time's subtle traces.
It feels like nothing happens, nothing but the noise,
powerless frustrations, a breaking, cracking voice.
Over time it tells a story, endlessly it flows,
consistency works slowly, the only way it knows.

This pain is much worse than it should be,
I should have known from the start.

My heart isn't beating anymore,
but someone, is beating, my heart...

Hail the golden dawn,
as she greets the dewy air.
Eyes to shame a little fawn,
and flowing locks so fair.
Perfect features to behold,
a calmness to embrace.
Wildest dreams, and darkest fears,
complete her pretty face.
A mind like flashing lightning,
a soul like glass so clear.
Childlike wonder, so exciting,
a heart with mirthful cheer.
Roots as steady as oaken tree,
growing by the river.
Countless men will come to see,
but only one, will she call hither.

A pen and paper twirling,
in a fated trance,
it tells a story of two lovers,
in a lifelong dance.

The one is bold and daring,
leaving a deep stain.
The other one, unblemished,
absorbs the scarring pain.

In these patterns, lie a story,
of a life lived together.
Through heaven, wind, sunshine, hail,
and all sorts of weather.

Everyone can read the paths,
both of them did share,
but what is the actual toll,
on either of the pair?

The one is drained of blood,
becoming weaker as it moves.
The other trodden to a pulp
by inconsiderate hooves.

A time will come when one is spent,
the other still awake.
But neither of them have much left,
for another one to take.

Die somerwolke, sal maar vír jou moet traan,
wintermodder, sal moet kraak vir jou hart.
Jou glimlag verruil, vir die herfssekelmaan,
lentedonderstorms, eggo diep; al jou smart.

The summer clouds, will have to cry for you,
winter's mud, will have to crack for your heart.
Your smile swapped, for autumn's crescent moon,
spring thunderstorms, echoing deep; all your sorrow.

When I translate my thoughts into speech,
it's like a piano's being played in reverse.
Colours and notes, purely felt each,
become black and white motion so terse.
