Sitting on the midnight train
Getting off at whatever stops last
There's a girl across the Isle from me
Saw her reflection in the glass

Strange looking out into the darkness
And seeing the brightness of her eyes
In a daydream state staring back at me
From the middle of the midnight skies

I can't say for sure if shes looking at me or not
Trying to think of something I could say
Lost in every minute that flashes by
midnight sure is a funny time of day

Besides all the sympathy in the letters that I wrote
I've included in the packaging a warm winter coat
To hold you through the vicious storms that surely lie ahead
Although I know it should've been me, there holding you instead
