I looked, once,
up into a sky
grey, and milky
white. My mind
spun along
trails of
unconscious
thought,
brief and fleeting
as the zephyr
that occasionally
brushed my face..
my eyes slid shut,
and my lips
curved, into
the smallest of
smiles, as I sat
there, still, empty
...calm, and content,
as the gentle
breath of the
west ruffled
my hair,
gently, and
from my fingers,
dropped a
band of gold,
down, into
the abyss below...
down, as I
stand, and
turning,
walk away
from that place,
and I am
happy,
as I go,
leaving
that
memory of
love,
that place
of
beginnings,
and of
ends,
softly,
as we part,
equals, the
silence,
and I.
At last.
At last...
A lingering thought, a memory, of forgotten pasts, of futures, unknown, perhaps. Judge it as you will.

Looking back
on pre-written lines,
folded paper in busy drawers,
laughing at the contents,
thinking of the past
when words came
from someplace else
and meanings felt deeper
than those in this
empty notebook of
spiral bound remnants
stuck in circular hell
staring at me from my desk,
pleading for a friendly pen
to decorate its remaining pages
in something other than
disappearing memories

Explore more
wander more
wonder more.
All we ever do is wish for more.

Will we ever feel we have enough
when you're the abundance you adore?

You need nothing.
Never more.

I drew an old man,
with beard

like mine--though his face had
more wrinkles

deep lines of age
are hard to draw

my pencil bore down at the center
of those creases

like I was trying to leave a mark
that wouldn't fade

or trying to carve something
from nothing

piling lead upon lead,
on paper

that couldn’t protest my adding of years,
with a dull number two

when my pencil was but a nub, there were
more years yet to add

by then, my hands were weary
my eyes blurred

I had no blade to shave the wood
from the shaft

to make more eternal marks
on white space
Static jade , silver portals masking sinuous , tarry leviathans
The wealth of Heaven released o'er twinkling avenues , the audacity of crows that gather in Spring rain
A lonely , bold Iris , the smatter of color along the edgewood , chatter of grounded Bluebirds , crescendo of April cloudburst ,
assurance of evening rainbows at the 'Lamp of God's veritable direction

pen and pad in my pocket
and I'm ******* on a switchblade
got horns and a halo
but I can't seem to behave

I know just what to say to you
so you'll think I'm a keeper
let me get a little closer, now
so I can cut you deeper
