Forget the crimson lips and heart,
forget they made you pale
Just write about your aching being,
Forget the fairytale.

Paint not a picture of your dreams,
Envisaging sweet laughters
Face life and look beyond,
Beyond the happily ever afters.

The Last Goodbye
Himanshi Oct 2018
Somewhere far along
In the fields of my fantasy
I buried my aching heart.
Liberated myself from
its undue desires
Felt freer by its depart.

Clouds of despair
Rained on me
As I dug deeper
Beside the redbud tree.
It bled and shed
And wrenched in pain
For the twisted love
That I had always known it to be.

My hands trembled when
I lay it to rest softly,
The pain was mellowed
As I felt the earth
yearn for it wistfully.

The murk enwreathed
The field of sorrows
As I stood there alone,
Beside my heart’s grave.

Swallowed my tears
As I delivered its eulogy
Wishing that one day,
you’d write its obituary.

I have no reason
To believe that love
Blooms like a flower or
that it’s always meant to be.
As I would live
The rest of my days
Knowing that
My heart died, before me.

Blue Slippers and Dolphins
Himanshi Jun 2015
Moody mornings
roughly plaited hair
still letting a few tresses
tickle my forehead
and touch my lips
only to make
my smile wider
These eyes see
more than what
the landscape holds
more than what is told
by the deceiving beings
of the deceiving earth.
It’s a beautiful lie
beneath the palpable skies
and the fathomable oceans.
So I’ll just lie
on this beach
in my blue slippers
and let the sand
fill the pores
of my flaxen skin
while the dolphin flipper.
It’s just a matter of time.

Tears
Himanshi Nov 2014
A salty concoction
Of  agony and sorrow
Rolls down her cheek
like fragrant dew drops
from the silken lamina
Feeding no one
but the undue desires
Of the wrenching heart.
Her sun-kissed skin
and honey-touched lips
now drench in the
brininess of her tears.
Counting seconds
by her slow gasps.
A breath, that was
only hers now.
Tears, that were
only hers now.

The Daffodils Shy Away
Himanshi Jul 2014
Awakened by the melody
of the chirping by the birdies
who beseech nothing more
but the fragrance the daffodils wore
around their silken petals yellow
and between their green sepals mellow.

Reminisce their time spent
under the magical snow bent
which ****** upon their existence vast
driving them to desert their casts.

Comes the harbinger of life, the spring
and they bloom with the soothing breeze
Each petal of the whorl curls
with stories of varying degrees.

Why though do they bend coyly
when asked about love?
Spring is Love , it's here today,
The Daffodils Shy away.

Amour
Himanshi May 2014
More than half of the time you don't know what you're doing.
But you do it anyway.
Its as if an invisible rope is pulling you
towards something infinite
and you love the marks
that rope leaves on your body.
You like that sweet pain.
You are hesitant and
a lil resistant at first
and then, you let go.
It's like paragliding,
the adrenaline rush every look and every touch gives you.
Its as unbelievable as God,
  as unbelievable as Satan.
It's an endless sea of emotions,
You can swim, or you can drown.
Its a rough,  craggy, bumpy road
which bifurcates,
and you are blindfolded.
So choosing your path is not an option.
You go where your destiny takes you.
That becomes your destination.
But the best thing is,
it makes you happy,
everything about it.
It makes you realize
what you're capable of,
how much you can make someone feel special.
You know yourself better with each passing moment.
One can't ask for more, right?
Wrote this for a friend's book.

The Woodpecker Sings
Himanshi May 2014
The Woodpecker sings,
In a tune we don't follow.
Pecking endlessly,
Like there is no tomorrow.

Words drawn from the heart,
Lost in the long beak.
With piercing eyes,
A little attention it seeks.

Pauses a second to tell us,
The story of his mother's pain.
Forgets not the cragged branch,
Chisels hard, the Woodpecker again.

Oblivious about the emotions it brings,
Endlessly the Woodpecker sings.
Written while taking an exam.

Sunflake
Himanshi May 2014
There was a sun
behind  'The Sun'
that burned a little differently.
There was a sun
farther away,
that shone a little differently.

No source of light
No source of warmth
Was not the benevolent of nature.
There was a sun
who looked a lot like you
A sun, of higher stature.

Fierce soldier, fighting hard
Cared not, feared not
the tides, the moon, the death lake.
Would burn and melt and heat and bake
Cared not, feared not
about anyone, but his dear snowflake.

He moved about,
round and round
unlike the many others.
Spellbound by the softness
of the snow ,the tempted young sun
couldn't stay any farther.

And thence moved,
the imperious sun
at a steady but leisurely pace.
Towards the wishful
and restless snowflake
who waited for his wordless embrace.

This twosome of heat and frost
wasn't meant to be
said the Mighty Lord.
Disregarding the Lord's words
The fervid sun said
"We shall be together against all odds"

Hesitant and anxious
were the first touches,
strong was this polarized attraction.
Melted the snow on the Sun's surface,
He couldn't stop this
unintentional percolation.

She gave her life
To the infinite sun
Though ,In his core she was reborn.
Calmed his inferno, the snowflake
Outstretched her empty hands again,
Cooled down the sun's wrath, like she had sworn.
Dedicated to Harkaran Singh. :)

Alone
Himanshi Apr 2014
Screams my soul, my heart, my mind
Looking for possibilities of every kind.
Beneath the stars and sky Prussian Blue,
My questions linger, finding answers few.

To be or not to be,
Is life a facade or is it just me?
Fixing puzzles with edges rounded,
Spaces left unfilled and unmounted.

Pulls us, the Earth, a magnet strong,
Away from the right , towards the wrong.
A gruesome character each soul wears,
In the cosmic world no one cares.

Lost souls in this alluring world,
Each moment find possibilities, hurled.
Make me a feather or a stone,
For I came alone and I shall leave alone.
The right, the wrong and the in-betweens.

Beginning and End
Himanshi Apr 2014
Hide my face under those blue Sheets
Then coyly I pop my eyes out,
Crinkle my nose as I feel the light
Of the beautiful sun, up and about.

My mind always wonders
How you must have slept
Envisage your beautifully closed eyes
And in them, the dreams bedecked.

Retell my dreams to myself
Like stories in purest form, without amends
Then expatiate my fantasies to You
I weave the loose ends.

I wonder how it would be
To have you sleep by my side
Holding lovingly on to your skin
As our hearts revived.

I wouldn't want to leave your side
Through sun, hail and snow.
Melt my tender skin on yours,
Seasons may come and go.

The days slip by like grains of sand
Held loosely in an infant's hand,
I want you to know one thing though
You are the beginning, my love
You are the end.
Meet me soon. I will wait.

Naked Hearts
Himanshi Apr 2014
The sky here looks so nice
Sit with me,
Under the moonlight.
And hear the sound of the silence,
That forms a melody with the leaves of the tree rustling with each other
Feel the wind against your cheeks.
See me blush as it touches mine.
Close your eyes , darling
And lose yourself to this melody.
Let your head feel light,
Let your soul fly.
Breathe slowly.
Just, don't try.
Let your feet be naked, Like mine.
Let your heart be naked, like mine.
Let my touch quench your thirst,
Breathe through me.
Don't look at me though!
Just close your eyes
Do you see any colors?
Are they all dark?
That's my naked heart you're looking at
Don't open your eyes!
Keep looking
You're making me blush red
A color my heart doesn't know of.
Feel not the wall behind you
feel my warmth instead
Does that give you chills?
Let my tresses fly ,
soft against your face.
Don't let them distract you,
Keep looking at our naked hearts meet.
Yours and mine.

Killing The Distance
Himanshi Apr 2014
Oh love, so far away
my reason to wake up
and face the day
Let me be yours.
I would ,if I could,
**** this distance.

If only you could see my tears,
and read my mind,
face my fears.
You'll know my heart.
I would ,if I could,
**** this distance.

I haven't been me lately.
I can't thank you enough
For waiting patiently.
I'm trying harder .
I would ,if I could,
**** this distance.

The wait has been long enough,
through and through
phases rough.
You and I must become us.
I know I will soon,
**** the root of all problems
This distance.
Not one of my best writings...
But it means a lot to me

Sun, Shine on me
Himanshi Apr 2014
Let my mornings be yours
Wake me up, gently
Stir the rays of hope in my heart
Just look at me, lovingly
Sun, Shine on me.

Hold me up with your light rays
touching my skin softly
Welcome me to another day,
With you, in your glory
Sun, Shine on me.

Make my thoughts brighter
as we pass through the day slowly
Protect me with your warmth
Let nothing else touch me
Sun, Shine on me

Know that your words matter
they move me deeply
**** the miles between us
****** me with your poetry
Sun, Shine on me

Open my heart and bathe in my love
Read my silences patiently
Let your hands caress me
Love me till Eternity
Sun, Shine on me

Insinuation
Himanshi Apr 2014
Moving with the speed of light,
Towards the cave of thoughts in your mind.
Welcome me with open arms,
I’d love the essence of it.

Be humane and don’t
refrain me from coming
as I plan a renege.
Why won’t you let me find out
from your eyes?
Why would you ruse me?

Make me understand
your idiosyncrasy .
Let me live in your little hut
For it is sanctum to me.
For you are my savior.

My soul ignites.
Scarlet and bright.
And I shall seethe…

Tell me! Oh tell me, you.
Please don’t shudder!
Ah…It’s an insinuation.

Silver
Himanshi Mar 2014
Silver is the language of my heart
the deep sensations
the long silences
of us being apart.

Silver is the color of my soul,
the restless and lost identity
screeching within this worthless body
making a deep dark hole.

Silver is the god of my mind,
guiding me,
somewhere away from here
towards the truth I have to find.

Silver is the music I hear,
sweet melodies of your voice,
I lose myself to the rhythms
to me, it’s only fair.

Silver is the guardian of my life,
stretching one hand towards me,
and the other towards the sky.
Its calling me,
as i understand, its true worth.

Silver whispers to me
and tells me I'm here to rise, much above,
and forget your visage.

Silver is accentuating before my eyes,
Its beauty shall carry my soul.

Love Boat
Himanshi Mar 2014
Set sail on a clear day
at dawn, my love boat.
Facing the enormity of the seas
light waves, soft against the hull
pushing forward .

Coy observer,
of the seas that meet ,
bestowing their souls
to the ocean.

Reluctant, hesitant
shying away, blushing red
as she sees the ocean
now open his arms to her.

Took slow steps into the
fathomage of the ocean
showed her brazen self to him
And flew away the cloak
that bounded her screaming soul.
One ghastly day,
a storm broke through,
it broke the hearty ocean.
And went away all the seas,
leaving the boat deserted.

Waves got higher and stronger
hitting the stern every minute.
didn't topple, the love boat
the mast ,still saving her.

And days from then,
the boat still sailed,
in the wide wide ocean.
No island in sight, but
stood strong with waves
in its favor.
Sailing, just sailing, My Love Boat.

When the crooked morning greets you
don’t you miss the point there!
When the crow chases away the cuckoo
don’t you miss the point there!
When you hair refuse to obey
and your clothes begin to fade
don’t you miss the point there!
When the sun shines too bright
and the moon is out of sight
don’t you miss the point there!
When the chores seem too daunting
and the day feels too lazy
don’t you miss the point there!
When the time runs out of hand
like sand pressed too hard
and the flowers are more thorny than fragrant
don’t you miss the point there!
When that old lady with a hat
gazes at you for too long
and the stray cat refuses to leave your side
don’t you miss the point there!
When the sweetest journeys
become the darkest memories
don’t you miss the point there!
When the kiss lingers a little longer
and the hug doesn't seem tight enough
don’t you miss the point there!
When the hero dies to
bring the end of evil
don’t you miss the point there!
Written at dawn, while thinking about certain events that took place in my life.

The Chameleon Soul
Himanshi Mar 2014
Rising from the darkness,
the evergreen dilemmatic soul
waking from the displeasures
bound by reluctance.

And slowly it slithers
upon the filth in life
only to fall back
into the reverie.

Disgraced eminence,
of this priceless concoction.
Enigmatical views,
but doomed by nature.
Born to change,
with time , with people.
To stay phlegmatic
as it writes its own destiny.

Dreams of falling into
the lap of luxury
like any ordinary soul.
But with a hint of transgression.

No robotic means,
just emulation.
Pulled by the ties of
prevalence.

Swindler of identity,
benevolent of jauntiness.
Passes through many loops
of croquet.
Yet saves its inscrutable soul
from the disrespectful world.

Where Do They Go From Here?
Himanshi Mar 2014
A journey started few years ago,
of the greatest among the friends and foes.
To a long long road they started from here,
God knew what meaning their journey would bear.
Of cards and smokes and drinks and bet,
Ten miles along they were yet.
Among the families, the driver, the spies,
These two strangers caught each other's eyes.
Their eyes spoke the unspoken truth
of beauty, nature, poems and all they could.
Treading the same path of betrayal in the past,
a few more miles together, so fast.
Green meadows ran past and sky light blue
and so did their pains subdue.
Across the sky the flock of Ravens flies,
as they got past their good old ties.

Up and down the Broken road,
No worries, each other's hands they hold.
Our minds still the question bear,
Where do they go from here?

I Smile For Me
Himanshi Mar 2014
When I see  a bird take its first flight,
When I hear a baby's first cry,
When I notice the butterflies,
I smile for me.

When I read those old letters,
When I see their precious gifts,
When I feel shaken by the loss,
I smile for me.

When I remember their  breath ,
When I miss their caressing hands,
When I think of their smile,
I smile for me.

When I look at me in the mirror,
When I do my hair and eyes,
When I notice my lips,
I smile for me.

When I feel two hearts beating,
When I see two souls meeting,
When I see those eyes shining,
I smile for me.

When I feel honest,
When I help someone,
When I achieve my goals,
I smile for me.

When I see so many colors,
When I hear so many sounds,
When I smell your divine,
I smile for me.

— The End —
