Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy
Thomas Conlan Apr 2018
Her broken boy-blue begins to beat again.
Blood flows foolishly to a love that's long gone,
but as the dark night nears dawn,
beauty shines upon the beast.
Rhythm he remembers; proof he's not ceased.

As the feeling flushes through, he's back to loving you.
Your broken boy-blue breaks again, just like new.

The American Dream
Thomas Conlan Oct 2017
A Dotard deals directly with death
His empty head wastes it’s breath
Fire and fury; war and worry
Life lost like a blink of an eye
A flash in the dark and then we die
Another ****** on the news
Black, white, Muslims, Jews
Fears of terror on the rise
Weapons of sizeable lies
Pray for Paris, stand with me
Pray in public for people to see
We’ll send our thoughts, a share, a like
And we’ll declare another drone strike
Tears shed for the injured and dead
For every white city stained red
Another elementary school mess
Caused by a child’s carelessness
Or some ****** having fun
With the barrel of his gun
A classroom of souls sit silent
Victims of a life so violent
Education spent on waging war
Using the pockets of our poor
America’s defence, say the boasters
Our children, new age holsters

A mother explains the world to her son
That’s ruled under finger and gun
Until a time when tragedy hits here
We all live life, paralyzed in fear
A world in decay and that’s okay
Because her child won’t ever know
The sky on fire raining ash-like snow
Won’t ever see the rising sea
Will not hear the screams of the free
As they rally together for peace
And are rained down on by police
Higher he will have to rise
Higher, after he dies
No longer burdened by the blow of living
In a time of eternal unforgiving
Plunged into a nightmare, he screams
Softly, slowly, delved into drowning dreams
As his mother stands above
Holding him under with love
A monster, a fiend they’ll see
An American reality
Another victim of violence
A soul becomes silence
Hearts break, tears are shed
Out of jealousy for the dead
For all the world’s war and strife
He’s just another casualty of life
On the news, a leading millionaire
Offering a thought and prayer

Aethra
Thomas Conlan Aug 2017
The burden that breaks this back
is the weight of letting you down,
having lost your way,
having seen you drown.

You were the bright sky turned cloudy,
as I took shelter from your rain.
Your tears had filled oceans
and I cowered from your pain.

Now my heart hangs as heavy
as the world upon my shoulders.
Punishment fitting for the one
who stole, held, and broke hers.

Man, The Mountain Tamer
Thomas Conlan Aug 2017
Man, the mountain tamer.
Explains to the erupted how their cores can be corrupted. Disaster avoided he can rejoice, until he hears another voice. Afraid of how their emotional erosion may cause the Earth's explosion. Lost, not just their home, but themselves.

Man, the mountain tamer.
Sweetly shouts serenades to the mounds who seek aid. Blissfully bringing back the molten from back before they knew when. Lava they've learned to live through now erupting from within you. The heart's fatal eruption will be their world's destruction.

Spring is fun, spring is cool
Spring is too cold for the pool
While summer is one thing that spring is not
Summer is free, summer is hot.
Summer's scene is filled with flowers
But here we sit in spring showers
Sheltered poorly from the rain
Umbrellas too short to be a cane
This is where I got to know you
A friend but now you're new
Special from each sink in sand
To when I reached and held your hand

070616
The threat of storm carries disaster
Until I fall into eyes of azure
Where opposites of the world entwine
Holding hands in showered sunshine
Spending way more than half
You teach me how to laugh
Tired, but never so awake
Torment that we can take
Worse, we part again with goodbyes
But I leave dreaming of blue eyes

120616
The taste of temptation on my lips
From your softly sweetened kiss
Another night of missing sleep
But this moment is ours to keep
Through this forest of paper trees
We found warmth from the blowing breeze
Smiling with each minute we spend
But our midnight meet needs to end

170616
The moment that lasted forever
Was when I asked you to be my
More-than-a-friend

No matter the actual passing of time
This moment couldn't end.
Joyous anticipation
Seemingly perfect timing
But your hesitation hurt my motivation

I'm still stuck in that moment
Between yes and no
My heated passion
Ready for the blow
This is the moment known as forever
Right at the peak of me
Falling for her

170616
The words that hurt the most are the ones not said at all. One Moment, we're soaring and now it's just the fall. While I fell for you Before, now I fall because of you. No chute, no net, no chance of Coming out of this one alright.

This ship's gone down without a fight

170616
Each twitch of my eye is you in disguise
Every bit of warmth in my hands
Are your fingers slithering through
The very thoughts that haunt my mind are always you

The ghost of you is now a part of me
Every sorrow you've seen, I now see
Mourning the passing of this passion
My mind turns again to ration
These feelings
These memories
They're symptoms of a disease

Hauntings of a ghost that I find has made its home inside my mind.

170616**
Time has stopped
And so will I
The world moving
So I'll try
To be content with this
The end
And how I've come to lose a friend
The interesting thing about this poem I find is the story behind it, so if you'd be interested in knowing more about this piece of work, just send me a message and I would be happy to talk about it.

Out of Time
Thomas Conlan Aug 2017
Tortured time traveling;
the mind unraveling.

Hands which cannot hold hers to console.
They forever move forward
spending time we cannot afford.
Alone, he will find, he's a man out of time.
Day dreaming of things he'll never see,
imagining ways he'll never grow to be.
No future he'd prefer
than to find himself with her,

but he instead lives life loving how they once were.

Dreaming
Thomas Conlan Aug 2017
Missing the memory of you and me,
I fall asleep and dream of this;
my heart swelling from your kiss.
I hold my breath, I halt my beat.
I hunger for your comfort and heat.
My skin grows cold, my face turns blue,
and still, my dreams are of you.

A pain in my chest and shortness of breath
awakes to the aches of heartbreak.
You are not here, but I do not fear.

I return to sleep with this memory I'll keep
of a moment I dearly miss.
How I'd hold you close, whom I loved the most,
and continue to live in your kiss.

Hands
Thomas Conlan Aug 2017
Hands which cannot hold,
hold one purpose in life.
When we die, they will not comfort us,
will not sense our fear,
our anger,
our sadness.

They will simply be as they have always been.
We'll feel desperate to have them turn back,
to make some sort of change,
to reach out and hold our own;
but that will never be.

The hands of time,
they are not kind,
not compassionate.

When we die, and we all must go,
they will continue on,
ever so slow.

Trapped
Thomas Conlan Aug 2017
Trapped inside this cranial ride,
I watch from eyes determined to hide.

From your lips,
your body,
your sensual touch,
I find the feelings are too much;

I shut myself in.

The sin of such a travesty is too much for me to take.
So I sit inside my skull and fake,
the only way that I know how;
I dance around your moves,
speak my lines, and bow.
I put on a play and perform perfectly
to distract from my abnormality.

These open eyes reveal lies of a cowardly man in disguise.
Who locks himself in his head alone to practice every ****** and moan.

The Fall
Thomas Conlan Jan 2017
The woeful moans of autumn show that love did leave us long ago.
Two souls defined by the kind of conceit
held together by passion's sweet summer heat.
Blossomed between each beautiful bloom,
they did nothing but consume;
until all that was left of the love that they lost
was frozen under winter's weary frost.
Blanketed under snow so white,
ready to start things over; to make things right.
The woeful moans of autumn show
that love did leave us
long ago.

Your Monster
Thomas Conlan Oct 2016
The fires of passion, they frighten me.
Beautifully blinding and I can’t see.
Forever a monster, I will be.
Your locked heart’s mangled key.

I was supposed to be the Adam to your Eve,
a creation of his labours;
a heart designed to be yours,
beating only in your favours.
Instead I am a vile insect,
a distant nightmare of hers.

But still this fire burns bright,
becoming my borrowed sense of fright.
Feelings bursting at first sight.
Burning away the safety of night.
And now I am exposed, under your light,
I am seen.

Not quite a man,
just a gruesome fiend,
who off of blood It was weaned.
A demon I have seemed,
in every thought I’ve dreamed.

Yet here you are,
without my mask, you’ve not screamed.
Perhaps at least,
with all your beauty I’m not this beast.
Even the Devil’s heart’s not ceased.
A fire in my soul that is ready to be released.

Haunted
Thomas Conlan Oct 2016
I hear her heart haunting these halls.
Roaming throughout, she echoes moans of mediocrity.
Portraits painted over, but I still seem to see her smile seep through.
Wails like whispers in my ears;

“I don’t think this is working, I’m seeing someone else.”

Daggers digging down to drive out these demons.
A rush of red comes to the surface; drowns out the quiet.
Scar these halls with scarlet.
Blare out her broken beat.

Feminism is useless, I believe in equality;*
a common misconception from a common man’s philosophy.
A point of view so skewed, that it’s more than a little faulty.

Feminists hate all men it seems, and then they cry for acceptance.
A group so dedicated to vengeance that they’d rather practice independence;

a common misconception from a common man’s reluctance.
A preference to see the worst in human beings
rather than agreeing for humanity’s well-being.

Feminism is a club that I’m not invited to.
Where all they do is whine and complain about women’s issues;

A common misconception from a common man’s miscues.
As feminism is not a place that can deny a person of any gender or race.
It’s a frame of mind that you will find humanity at it’s base.

Now in life these words, they will not rhyme,
but I guarantee you’ll hear them said from time to time.

Feminism isn’t about what is or is not on your chest.
It’s about empowering those whose lives are oppressed.
“Don’t cry, you’re a man”, “don’t be such a *****”,
These falsities we all hear are but a locked door;
Where understanding  is the key
To truly living in equality.
I started this poem months ago, but finished it today for International Women's Day

The Theodicy of Man
Thomas Conlan Mar 2016
This heart beats a miserable mythos
Daring death to bleed from my pried pithos
And you can still feel her aura
When the all-giving Pandora
Pulled out my chest and asked
How much of man is masked
Passed her teary eyed mist
She found this box with a list

Sand, clean, prep, and paint
This home with no complaint
Take care to love each other
Both your brothers and your mother
I am alone, so alone
In this prison of a home
Leave this layer to never dry
Just listen to my goodbye
Don’t look for blame
From an open flame
Left beside this pound of paint
Hoping to incinerate this taint
This is the end
For me my friend
Respect my choice
And please rejoice
Life is a wonderful adventure
Some, missing that sweet splendor
A burning ready for the blow
To put me out, to let me go

Despite all the talks, all the locks
She’s opened up Pandora’s Box
And let his evils out
Fear, shame, sorrow, and doubt
Their freedom found, they’re unconfined
Exposed a weakened man’s mind
No sun should have to see this depravity
Hidden captive in his heart’s dark cavity

Celestial Affections
Thomas Conlan Feb 2016
She was one in a million;
the moon filling up the night sky.
She'd lit up the whole world for his passing by.
He'll look up on those cold winter nights,
and her glow is amongst the most beautiful sights.
His moonlight maiden has a hold over his heart,
and with it, he feels they will never be apart.

He was one in a million;
just another star.
He lights up the night, but he's so very far.
Some evenings she finds her way without him,
because the light he offers her is so dim.
There are many more men among the skyline,
and if they’re hidden behind clouds, that's just fine;
because stars have no sway over the shine of the sun,
which will forever be her only one.
Thomas Conlan Jan 2016
Better be feeling the best
Her hungry heart's at rest
Soaking in scarlet heat
To break her broken beat
As she waits and wonders why
Life hurts so much, then you die
Envy only everyone enjoyed
Demons deter, and she's destroyed
Dead down, deep inside
All the easier to hide
Living behind sweet smiling
All the while she is lying
Her eyes are heavy, its time for sleep
With secrets she can no longer keep
The water is cold
He has her hold
The pain, it leaves her head
And finally, she is dead

Howl
Thomas Conlan Dec 2015
The sun sets sweetly as the sky steadily rolls in with clouds, while the weary wolf wanders where he can welcome his midnight maiden.

And as the twilight turns to night, this sorry sounding soul searches for a piece of serenity. The night brings out the wild in his heart and he howls haunting hymns towards the Welkins.

His crying pierces through the silence and he is welcomed by a satellite of light, shining softly through the dark. This wolf does not search for love and affection, because he is never without it. Each shout is simply serenades to the one being who will always welcome him warmly.

His songs are sometimes sweet, his songs are often sad. For the wolf howls to the night sky to beckon the moon to love him. She is his constant, his one true friend, and he will sing her serenity as she is the only soul that sings to his.

Everywhere but Here
Thomas Conlan Nov 2015
I'm everywhere but here
Counting back each year
Madness from memory
And you will find me
In moments of joy and pain
Between the past and insane
Heart beating, day dreaming
The world gone, I am seeing
A life lived without you there
My dream, a living nightmare
A picture perfect portrait set in place
A time long gone that I cannot face
This love that's passed, that didn't last
Dreams, memories of a failed past

Yet you're everywhere but here
Travelling a future fueled by fear
This post apocalyptic love story
A bleeding heart's memento mori
Breathe in your newfound deity
Our air, laced with anxiety
Leaves you with no way to scream
Rose-coloured glasses in the ashes of a dream
Taking chase to the world's end
In search of that one perfect friend
No more pain, no more lies
Not when you find his soft eyes
So beautiful your soul boasts
Illusions of kaleidoscoped ghosts
A future failing to ever form
Like how lightning predicts the storm
Perfection passed your pretty glance
Trapped in time's terrifying trance

Maybe we were meant to be
But we will never get to see
Life lost loving a little lie
So we just passed each other by
I loved where I have come from
While you lived in days to come
Never had we considered the present
To find peace from of our life's lament

Mortem Amoris
Thomas Conlan Nov 2015
Startled myself just to find
Death resting inside my mind
A dream from where I never woke
Until I saw spirits shrouded in smoke
My lungs, inhaled cold fresh air
Exhaled mirages of silk grey hair
Caught a glimpse of loving eyes
Amidst the mist's amourous lies
Prompting me to flush with heat
And allow this weary heart to beat
Captured intensely by this sight
Even while it withers to white
Turns out this man is not as dead
As Death dreams discreetly in his head

Golden Blue (Stuck on You)
Thomas Conlan Nov 2015
The girl with the golden hair
Lives her life with love in her stare
Breathes in air, exhales affection
St Valentines picture perfect perfection
Playful, pretty, plenty of heart
Had me pinned from the start
Call it fate, call it luck
I figure her head's got her stuck
In a world where she can't see
The reality of what she could be

The girl with the sea blue gaze
Will have you drown in her for days
Every blink, another splash
A moment gone within a flash
This life in view seems timely
But her river runs quite kindly
Pleasantly lost in pleasure's drift
Basking in her beauty's gift
If those eyes could see what mine do
They'd be captured in amazement too
a world set in black and white
And she's my sole sense of sight

Maybe these eyes are out of hue
But there's one thing to say that's true
Life has changed because of you
My favourite shades of gold and blue

One in a Billion
Thomas Conlan Oct 2015
There are billions of others just like me no matter which night.
We all offer the same thing, we all give off that light.
But should I go and let my fire die
there'll still be those that notice and wonder, why?

Because I'm one in a billion, and I'm still your favourite star.
Light years from your world, but to you that's not very far.
Because when the night drops down with darkness,
you know your sky will not be starless.
We all give off the same kind of light,
but you think that I stand out as bright.

The truth is that I shine for you,
because when I feel dark,
you help me pull through.

You are one in a billion here on Earth,
but your heart is what determines your worth.
From where I stand its easy to see,
that your heart burns as bright as can be.

Phantom Lip Syndrome
Thomas Conlan Oct 2015
Your whiskey lips
are haunting me
with words of
what if
and what could be.

The dream of us may be more damaging I fear,
than where life has lead us to my dear.
I steer clear from your gaze for all the ways
they make me feel like old days;

scared, insecure, miserable,
happy.

"I just want one kiss",
a trip into bliss that you'll miss.
But your phantom lips have left me aching
from the past that we have been making.
And that pain has got me breaking.
Daydreaming a life from which I'm waking.

Back to reality,
a life cast in duality.
The world stripped of sensuality but revisited at night.
A happiness best taken in sips, and although I've woken, my heart rips
because I can still
feel
your
lips.

Am I crazy?
Past all hazy.
My memory being lazy.
Is everything so black and white,
the difference between wrong or right.

You're a test of my sanity,
between dreams and reality.
I see butterfly wings,
rain clouds in may and other things.
The longer I stare, the further I tear.
You're here,
you're there,
you're everywhere.
Every blotch of ink makes me sink.
Every page of paper, another link.
Your smile,
your wink,

Individuation
Thomas Conlan Jul 2015
Where does poetry come from?

Does it come from a series of events that have left physical and mental scars on us? Is it the emotions of everyday life escaping from our souls and into words for us to try and make sense of it all? Are they just pretty rhymes and ideas sparking the fires of our imaginations?

I have used it as an escape from the pains of a failing family. Words written where the writer weeps for answers to how and why. My words were raw, uncontrolled emotions becoming stronger and stronger as each day passed by. I've written out rhymes asking why I am alive, why am I the only guy who can see that the fire in my eye has burnt out. These words were my voice; my way to scream and shout. To cast away the lies and doubt. There was a point where placing words on paper was the best poetry I could write; but the soul has no limits, and I can break free of this height.
Up and away, there'd come a day where I may say I am a poet.
A person who writes poems.
A person possessing special powers of imagination or expression.

Boddah
Thomas Conlan Apr 2015
He lives through me.
He speaks to me.
He is a part of me.

He is on a different plane, whispering thoughts into my head.

They don't need me.
I don't belong here.
I am wrong, and
I long to be corrected.

He pushes these things onto me and I understand because it is Him.
His wishes and His desires must be met on a whim.
When my light shines too bright, He persuades the world to dim.

For every breath I take, He is the exhale; strangling me passively.
His whispers are the knife pushed up against my life.
Every word, a concluding phrase;
I LOVE YOU,
I LOVE YOU,
good-bye.
Completely unsatisfied until I've heard Him and have died.

He holds my hand gently, and pulls me down hard.
Guides me towards that beautiful, shining light;
The 4:08 train.

The Devil knows my name, and with it feeds me shame.
As the light begins to leave my eyes, I know that I have lived through lies.
All the words and evil things He said, were steps in every move He's led.
As I danced with the Devil inside my head, I knew that all I've loved was dread.

I can't tell if I am dreaming,
or if I'm already dead.

Borrowed Heart
Thomas Conlan Apr 2015
If you were dead or still alive,
living happy or torn apart;
to me, nothing really matters.
You left my body, stole my heart.

The one you lent to me
wouldn't give me blood,
wouldn't dam these thoughts,
couldn't stop this flood.

Thoughts and feelings of you
I figured I had forgot,
Brought back from a poke
That felt more like a shot.

The noiseless beating of a heart
that I knew was never there,
drove my mind so **** apart
trying to find out what is fair

This wooden curse you've given me
will not beat or let me breathe.
I must free my life from you,
with everything that we've been through.
Live my life without a heart.
Let things go back to the start.

I threw it back into nature,
where it should forever be;
In the hopes this borrowed heart
would someday grow into a tree.

And when that tree reaches up
and it grabs hold of the sky,
I'll ******* chop that ***** down,
watch it suffer there and die.

Angel Eyes
Thomas Conlan Mar 2015
Angel eyes shine down on me.
Blinding me, so I don't see.

Shamefully hiding from the light.
Life, forever lived at night.

Afraid of what your gaze may see
When it finally shines on me.

*****, disgusting, covered in grime.
The sight of a boy, lost in time.

Between a girl who spread pain and lies
And the possibilities seen in Angel's eyes.

The world lit up, my world, decayed.
Your light leaves me, begging to be saved.

But all that's good does eventually fade.
Everything bright will return to the shade.

Reality is, everything lives and then dies,
But life is still beautiful in those Angel's eyes.

Where we'll

our own path;
waking up from this dream.

Red river,
won't you carry me
to the place where I belong,
where the river
dries up
and our song is
left unsung.

Screams and terror,
of people who couldn't turn back.
Their bodies cast upon the
dried up dirt,
line
after
line.

Down the river red they went.
Agony and pain; their two only oars.
Their lives drained into the
blood soaked sand.
Life begins so unexpectedly
but this time, ended as planned.

I stretch over land and always want more.
You are the earth I can't reach,
impossibly far for a gentle wave like me.

But ill never stop pushing forward,
as you can very well see.
Ill crash and crash and crash and crash
until you notice me,
and when you do
I swear ill be the most beautiful thing you've seen.

If only I could make you want me too.

The gravity of my feelings aren't enough
to push me through to you.
There isn't anything I wouldn't do
to crash right next to you.
Even if I did I know
it'd be short lived.
Eventually everything will return to the sea,
including me.
Where I will crash upon your rocky shore

Falling, Falling
Thomas Conlan Feb 2015
Take a look at where I'm found,
I'm falling, falling to the ground.
My world turning round and round,
And I'm here, falling, down and down.

I'm falling, falling for you,
And you know about this too.
That all of this I say is true.
Falling, falling for you,
Is all I can hope to do.

As I fell, you failed to catch me.
As I fell, you let me drop.
Didn't you ever look up to see,
That I needed this to stop?

Did you ever hear me calling?
Screaming that my world is falling?
Was I going to keep you stalling
From your life down there, still crawling?
Because my pleas are so appalling,
Right by you, I'll keep on falling.

Now that I've fallen past you,
I'll keep falling for someone new.
She'll know what to do,
Instead of seeing me fall through.
The only questions to answer is who,
And will she fall for me too?

So this is where I'll be found,
Falling down, falling down.
My world spinning, round and round.
Forever falling, falling to the ground.

Wish I Was Here

There is more to life than fear; there is love

Some people would call this love; I call it masochism.
My first attempt at a 10 word poem. Feedback is always appreciated!
Thomas Conlan Feb 2015
Like the blowing breeze through nestled trees, he walks through life, dirt on his knees. A boy, now a man, finally learned how to stand, and now he flees through this forest of dreams. Alone he must walk, until he finally sees, there is no home outside these trees.

A flower, picked up off the floor, reminds him of what she once wore. She was his core, his lost Lenore, who up and left right out their door, and like this flower, plucked from the floor, she would be lost forevermore.

As he keeps on through these dying trees, he steps on their rustled leaves. Each step echoes pain and agony, unified in a bitter sweet melody. She's gone, you pushed her, what you step on, was once her.

The cold draws breath that only he can see, illusions of what was, and what could be. He carries on with a heart well led, and although he is lost, he is not quite dead. Inside his head, a demon once fed, is the reason for what he once said, "be careful where you tread, for a man made of lead cannot be made to wed". With tears in her eyes, away she fled from this man who bled blue blood. Behind masks of frosted pain, he lifts his eyes and through his breath's cold lies, he sees his love once again.

In a floral dress she dances alone. Entranced by every sway and prance, his heart joins her in leaps and bounds. Captured by her sweet, sweet sounds, he can't believe what he's just found. A second chance to love what's lost, like how the sun gently lifts the frost from the ground. The earth does come back, full round again. He has come back to her as a friend, and he will love her until the very end.

Lovesick
Thomas Conlan Feb 2015
My heart feels heavy,
And then it feels light.
My world is turning to the left,
And then it turns to the right.

One day I’ll be happy,
And then I’ll be sad.
Like waking up sane,
And going to bed mad.

This has to be a joke,
Or some kind of trick;
As to why I can’t relax.
I think I might be lovesick.

The world stands still
When I look in your eyes.
Eventually it’ll spin again
When we say our goodbyes.

Burning brighter than ever,
You’re the fire to my wick;
Melting me away,
I think I might be lovesick.

I’m on top of the world,
But I am falling fast.
Closer and closer to you,
But I’ll speed right past.

My heart stops for you,
Like a bomb that fails to tick.
Send me to the infirmary
Because I think I’m lovesick.

I've been to every doctor,
And they've ran every test,
Still they don’t know what
Is going on in my chest.

They say its racing back and forth,
To one pace, it won’t stick.
They say I’m losing control
Because I am lovesick.

Scatter-minded Lover
Thomas Conlan Feb 2015
Where does love come from?

Can I see it? Can I touch it? If I lose it, where does it go?
If I have it, if I feel it, if it's real, how does it show?

If love is real, please tell me how I can make you see it.
That this feeling is the first that finally makes me feel like I fit.
Into this perfect world where I am safe from all the world's ****.
Can I show you love with rhymes and words that express wit.
Because I'm falling, and I keep falling, into love's bottomless pit.

Is love the blood rushing to my cheeks when our eyes meet?
Could love be the drive that causes my heart to beat?
Am I in love just because I am feeling this fiery heat?
Overwhelming what you do to me, without ever leaving your seat.

Love is fleeting, for it is blind.
and although it's slipping you will find,
that love will never be left behind.
It lives in you, not in your mind,
but with your soul in a bind.

Would you see my soul if I said that I loved you?
That you took my world and all that I knew
and you showed me what's false, what's true.
That the question I was looking for was what and not who?
I have been discovering what love is for the past few months thanks to an amazing person. This poem was just an attempt for me to write an answer to the many, many questions I have about the feeling of love.

My Favourite

You are my favourite poem

Your words, like wonder, leave me wanting to know more. Words that capture me, make me see, that every sentence is a key. A key to your innermost feelings and desires. Inside each phrase your passion lights fires, and I can't get those words out of my mind.

You are my favourite poem

And every feeling, every rhyme, will surface up in time. Bubbling up from the bottom of your soul, you reach out and fill my heart-shaped hole. And at the start of every word, until your very last line, you've got me caught up in your moment in time, wishing that it could be mine.

You are my favourite poem

Where action and words are not enough, and "I love you"'s are simply poetic fluff. Your words allow me to express the emotion inside my heart and soul, creating the illusion that I am starting to feel whole. You have stolen the words from out of my mind and I find myself wondering all the time, the meanings behind your every rhyme. Then, with a sigh, I realize that I should not try to ponder why. These words, these feelings, they are not mine to own. Alone, I should create something as beautiful as you.

You are my favourite.**

You do so much for me, and you've given me so much to see. Between each blade of grass and each fallen leaf, I will think about the beauty of your soul, and I will take these moments and again feel whole. Thanks to you.

She

She
A freezing man like me has no right to see the majesty
found within the warm and gentle sea inside those beautiful blue eyes.
Caught in your presence, I often sigh hellos and goodbyes.
I long to be a part of the world I see in your ocean blue,
and maybe if I could be so bold, you'll share this feeling too.

Yet this feeling in me lingers, as I look at your lovely fingers.
I would take a stand and hold your hand,
if I weren't afraid you'd turn to sand.
Slipping through my tender hold, I fear I'll never fit your mold,
and I will remain forever cold.

And her smile all the while has my heart in denial,
as she shines like starlight through the dark and dreary night.
And I'll try with all my might to keep her beauty in my sight,
because when she blinks I begin to sink into the reality I'm told;
I will remain forever cold.

And finally, her hair like gold reminds me who has my hold.
With a beauty like the sun, she warms my heart
and brings me back to the start.
A freezing man like me has no right to see the majesty
found within the warm and gentle sea
inside those beautiful blue eyes.
this where my heart resides,
warmed by your lovely presence.
and maybe if I could be so bold,

you can save me from the cold

Synchronicity

Love.

An idea for which I am a fool
As there is not one solid rule

Love is endless, love is blind
Inside yourself, you will find
Those who are sweet, those who are kind
Can all be equally entwined.
But our hearts are overly defined,
Made complicated by our mind.

Love cannot be captured,
just as the heart will not be fractured.
Love is free to see the world as it believes it should be.
Love is not ours to take, or to lay at mercy's sake.
Love is the reason why we lie awake,
smiling at the lives we make.
Should these bonds we build be shattered,
it is our worlds that break.

Love can move mountains.
It is the water in our fountains.
Love is anywhere you smile;
Found at every foot and mile.
Across the ocean, on every isle,
You will find love's gentle style.

Heart beating fast,
like a blast of sheer emotion,
you pray that it will last.
Cast out from reality,
you passed into a fantasy
of a world split into duality.
And although you love so much,
there is only one soul yours has touched.

And you can't stop thinking of her.

You will meet a girl who will change your world
and you will never love again.

She will change your perception,
and although you love the world,
she is your one exception.
She is your other half, another part of you.
She is your joy, your smile and laugh.
Her heart beats every time yours fleets.
Breath taken by the beauty of her soul
and for once in your life,
you feel that you are whole.
No longer is she fantasy,
and she is better than reality.
She becomes your everyday vitality
as she is fills your life with glee.

Not just one heart,
but two,
beating to synchronicity.
