Olivia
we sat.
a woman passed.
she said,
"you look like you're enjoying each other."
she added,
"or the day."
you said,
"we're enjoying the day."
I was enjoying you.
It's exactly one year
Since you left
This tiring cold earth
Your death
Gave birth to something deep
A wound, now a scar
I watch and feel everynight
A stubborn scar
That deepens with time
Instead of fading
Today this time
I was in a bus
Coming to your funeral
Disappointed like a dog without a bone
And an actor without a home
It's exactly 366 days since your death
Mordecai Amos Suga Masimbira
Died at nineteen before he grabbed
What he was working for
The Nobel piece prize in physics and chemistry
Even in your death
You're unconquered
And I will make you famous
Because you were denied
A long life
Which you deserved
Because to all you were perfect.
A perfect beacon of light
Through the family's dark night.
Words will never cover your void
And only when we meet again will I rejoice.
You live in my dreams
In my art
And in my heart
Which is still moaning like a dove
Solely standing on a thorny branch
Weeping sorely
With burning hope and love
He was my lil brother, i miss him, i love him and i don't why death took him away...

Every car ride I end up going on
I'm always in a state of panic
Because I know what cars can do.
I know that they've killed more people than the number of digits on my phone.
I know that they have taken away the people I have cared the most about.
And so I sit wondering "Who's next? When is it going to happen."
Praying that I will be next so someone else doesn't have to take the hit.

I’ve looked and watched
  you turn away

Seeing things
  you’ve long denied

I grabbed the lion
  by his mane

Staring through
  the devil’s eye

I bought
  a one-way ticket

While never
  looking back

I’ve sailed and searched
  the roughest seas

My rigging
  often slack

I gave away
  all that I had

And asked for
  nothing more

I played the game
  and ****** the rules

Rejecting
  any score

I stole my fate back
  from the wind

Which blew
  from side to side

And asking once
  my only wish...

   —to leave this world alive

Hey, are you there?
I'm looking at you from the corner
From across the room
Almost stalking
can you see me?

My voice has been sounding
and calling most of the time.
How loud it sounded that
you couldn't answer it.
I tried to sound confident
but my voice came out small
and shaky then I hesitated.
Where are you my love.
My heart seeks to be with you.
Come to me my sweetheart,
my darling for I miss you
terribly so much.
Today I stood by the river bank
waiting for your arrival.
Counting all the ship that went by,
looking at all the faces walking down
the street.
I miss you dearly,
my heart misses you.
Only your embrace will comfort me.
From sunshine to dawn I'm still sitting
here watching the sky for the sign of you.
Waiting for you is my past time hobby.
The birds are singing the song of hope.
I'm encouraged that you will soon come
home to me.
Your presence is comforting and reassuring
for who can ever replace the vacuum in my heart.
These thoughts of you are
definitely something to keep,
they are beautiful and I'm convinced
that we are both going to be okay.

Someone once asked me why I like poetry so much
If its sometimes hard to understand
And its sometimes confusing to read

In return I asked them why they like to feel
If the feelings are sometimes hard to understand
And sometimes confusing to read

They cocked their to the side and asked what my words meant
They simply didn't understand
That the words from a poet are are tangled by the beat of their heart

Sometimes we can't help but to speak figuratively
Because we like to hide our thoughts and feelings in plain sight
Finding out what weight the words carry is half of the excitement

Just like wearing our feelings for our crush on our sleeve
Or ignoring someone when we're angry
You don't make it obvious, but you leave all the clues in the open
Because just like a poet, you want to be found
Sometimes people write because our thoughts get ahead of us when we speak, but when the words are released through our pens from our heart it all becomes clearer.
