Merryweather
Faraazuddin Syed May 2021
Their verdant green coats gleamed with light after every splash
Like the melted and lush;                   southern snowfields.
They rushed into the darkness of the forest, the blurry blinding
Into their burrows they hid, for they were never to be revealed.

They croaked and croaked, the vibrations swarmed my ears
Oh how, oh how, may I cure their incessant wanderlust?
Ultimately one came croaking by;— bewildered I was
This wasn't just croaking, at least to me, they were singing softly

Marveled was I, their pupils gleamed with a sense of urgency
Up they looked, into pupils of my own;  cornered and afraid
Doubts clouded my mind, were we really all that wise?

A sudden downpour began—
Nevermore will I receive such a bold invitation;
My eyelids swung open tremendously
The sun stared into me, likewise I stared back

My eyes shuttered closed once more
The Earth's petrichor trickled across my nose once more.
The croaking thundered my chest once more
I understood now, once more

This world's bureaucracy.

Starlight
Faraazuddin Syed Apr 2021
It  begins to increase, luminous evermore
Screams of light puncture;

                                                the hollow black shatterdome.

Elephantine wavelets return the massive afterglow to the center
Concentrated so benevolently, it can only be the power of a God

We watch, as Zeus himself, quivers in fear
.. and in a moment, invisible to our feeble eyes

                                   an incredible implosion,

Henceforth, arrives a monstrosity of heat
This is, the age of starlight

My Gift to You
Faraazuddin Syed Sep 2020
I've scribbled away at straight sheets of paper
Scripture coveted in cerulean ink;  on ivory sheets
Despite my youth, I've filled it full
My rarest commodity, my only link to you

There is nothing more I can teach you, little ones
Yet what's in my words, what's kept away from the world
I want you to know how my life was like, and how it ended
And furthermore, learn from my lessons

My greatest joys, my dearest offspring
One day you'll have little ones of your own
And then, you'll learn the truths and the fallacies
At that moment .. I want you to know what you must do

So here is my story;

Feather
Faraazuddin Syed Jul 2020
And while she rests in an armament of metal bands
To true lengths, I lest discover
The matter of your intentions
Why, oh dearest lover?

Exhibit your pain
Flaunt your feathers
In my eye, my blindness grips
The difference between being in pain, and being tender

Let me speak freely, I prithee you
In the dark labyrinth of emotion
Where lies your truth
You exist, like           ; a corrupted tragedy

A story which has no end
A black feather, coveted in delicate stories
Each delicate fiber, holding its tongue
Look closer and and it will strike you

That darkness in your eyes

Am I lost?
Faraazuddin Syed Jun 2020
My elfin body, lies here brittle and frail
The sunlight showers over my soft skin
As though a disabled mother caresses her child
It is.. a compassionate, but undertaking movement

In a clement exhibit of gentleness
It skips through the single fragrant leaves
With a certain whimsy, bounce after bounce.

The soil begins to slather itself upon my arms
Like an angry populace, belittling a mischievous thief
The rustle of the wooden shovel continues to grow louder
My luminous morbid eyes are smothered by the Earth itself

They are shut.

The ground I once stepped foot on, has now overtaken me
This Mother Earth, the one I cherished and fed off heartily
For once I believed this life would be endless, everlasting
Yet I have succumbed to the misery of living, the final stage

Am I lost?

Hunger
Faraazuddin Syed May 2020
Consume me.
Your devilish charm.

Devour me.
Your beautiful song.

Ravage me.
Your great mind.

Use me.
Your mystical shine.

I'll be yours.
You be mine.
