Aspen Trees
Ethyl Mar 2019
Chasing fallen Aspen trees
Screaming out into the breeze
Running, running, can’t catch me
Out here in the Ashen trees

Ashes of the Aspen trees
Burnt down beauty,
No matter to me
If you call out
They’ll answer thee
Fairies once in Aspen trees

Falling, falling,
Fallen leaves
Spinning off along the breeze
Spiraling onto the ground
Make sure not to make a sound

Summon spirits in the trees
Reach your hand out to thee
A touch of faith,
It’s time to leave

The Fairies’ dying Aspen Trees
Again, just from a story of mine

To Wish Upon A Raven
Ethyl Mar 2019
To wish upon a raven
One must first grow its wings

To wish upon a raven
Waste not time on petty things

To wish upon a raven
One must know how it feels

To soar above the heavens
To feel freedom and know fear

To wish upon a raven
Knowing suffering is key

To wish upon a raven
Knowing tragedy of banshees

How they wail, how they groan
The very song, the very tone

Setting loose the sorrow
Sending warnings to the free

To wish upon a raven
You have to understand

That sometimes you’re the omen
Of bad luck and stories planned

To wish upon a raven
Ignorance you overcome

And if you wish upon a raven
The raven you become
Relating to a story of mine

Decay
Ethyl Mar 2019
Come here, my friend
Where the autumn leaves fall
In the pond there, down below

Don’t they look pretty
Oh such a pity,
That the prettiness always must go

You know it's not my fault
And yet you blame
Everything pretty someday decays

The balance of beauty
Seems to degrade
Once I am here, your old friend decay

I play a line between life and death
The new, the old
The now and regret

Now I'll tell you my friend
With your head held sadly
There must be death before life can be made

Ignorant humans,
Never recognize beauty

Once it starts to fade
Based off a goddess in a story of mine

Blood and Water
Ethyl Mar 2019
We’re down at the tower
Waiting for our share
Of the precious liquid, there is none of which to spare

Thirsty, hungry people
Waiting for their crop
Which always shrivels at the stock,
They know they cannot stop

Waiting for rains to come
I swear that we are cursed
The water just goes down the drain,
But still the people thirst

Wars of land and power
That the sheriff cannot cease

The townsfolk are hungry,
They are hungry for peace

The government’s long gone
And yet we have to stay
She has us in her iron grasp
She won’t let us get away

Hiddens lies
Her perfect crime
Bitter bitter beauty

Something wrong
The siren’s song
Melody of promise

We come here to the tower,
And the fields most every day
To get our share of water
Giving life, that is her pay

She hold our lives on strings
Suffocating power
She is our lord for she’s the one
Who controls our water

But our lady’s ****** tactics
spill more blood than  can become

The rivers can’t run red when there’s no water left to run
Based off of a town in a story of mine
