drunk on you

your name is
forbidden in
my mouth
or in my heart
because when
i think about
you;

i'll cry a little more,
hurt a little stronger
love a little softer
because you no longer
make me feel sober

i'm drunk on the
memory of you
if only i could chase you with pizza but shots don't work like that

It is because of you my Love,
that I have mistook
this Earth for Heaven ..
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I'll meet you there." - Rumi

What
makes
A poet

Well
I think
Eventually

One will
just
know it

I wish I was in love, so I could write a love poem again.

The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.
A little escape from the madness.
Or maybe, into.

I love him
I tell myself
I know that
We will be together forever
I don’t believe that
We could be separated
My thoughts tell me that
He’s the love of my life
Sometimes my heart lies and says
I could live an eternity
Without him
Like my friends say
“We’re perfect for each other”
And you can’t tell me
He’s not the one.

Now read from bottom to top.

What is Love

More and more each day
It will never fade away
A seed planted by Him
Grown from within
Filling an empty heart
From which it can’t depart
I see it in your eyes
When you look in mine
Ours will last forever
Till the end of time
What is Love

My mother taught me
Music,
Poetry,
Words,
Love,
The day is not done
Until you find all the beauty
It has to give.

My father taught me
Work,
Persistence,
Integrity,
Love,
The day is not done
Until all those under your care
Have all they need.

My Father taught me
Love.
Everlasting
Submissive
Love.
The day is not done
Until you have shed yourself
Of guilt that was never yours.

Guilt nearly destroyed me.
Gracious love restored me.
Sometimes my poetry gets caught up in the details.  Does that make me OCD?  If so, should I put those letters after my name also?
