Did Earth feel slighted

Seductress nice
What relished vice

My chest of ash

In spite of meat

My flaming heart
And heated head
Defiance fed
A sparking wish

It started small
Like filigree

It bound the heart
A slushing sea

A pebble thrown
And contents poured

It filled again
And it was stone

The south is fading
And grasses grey
The thistles pale
All minds they stay

One for wonder
And one for dust
One inspires
The other tires
One is nearer
Yet less dearer
All are timeless
None to stay

I'm in the murky place
Between two warring worlds
Blind to the beauty blurred
By swirling milky words

I see your catacombs
Cemented single minds
Feel crumbling rockiness
As cracks create the ground

Recalled a certain thrill          
At hate for a hypocrisy        
A smirk for sacrilege          

And wonder all along            
It's just the pluck of memory
A thread of this in me            

A narrow path is mine
