Misfit
Destiny Thompson May 2018
It's a puzzle with missing pieces
A dandelion drifting against the wind

upside down evolving
While working on solving

blossoms growing in dry terrain
Changing the food chain

Who am I?
Destiny Thompson May 2018
What am I?
They told me I’m a  hybrid

I don't belong anywhere
I look too different to belong somewhere

I'm a martian on my own planet
I’m not even sure if i’m hispanic

Im a cross breed a half-blood
I don't go with  with the river i make it flood

Compressed
Destiny Thompson May 2018
I'm too tense to go against
What's  a request ?

I'm too oppressed
what is common sense?

I need and immense
straight jacket to keep me captive

I’m scared and unprepared
What did i just declare?

Take care give me a prayer
Don't let that tear

Go all the way down your cheek
You are unique

Just because I smile
Does not mean I´m happy
I have pain and fear
hiding in my smile
most of my smiles
are from my head
not my heart

Just because I say yes or no
my heart does not speak for itself
my head comes up with something to say
my head ignores what my heart would say
the thoughts of my heart will always
stay hidden unless someone knocks on the door
it may take a while to answer
but eventually the door will open
Because true smiles come from the heart not the head
