Lost i was in a forest dark for the path I had taken I could not recall.
As the light of dawn cut through the darkness I lay beneath the trees that stood tall,
Awoken from a dream in which the voice of an Angel filled the air,
Patiently waiting for the velvet twilight to save me from my despair.
A voice i heard yet again, this time a melancholic tone,
And so i ventured deeper, and deeper, and deeper into the unknown,
Following the gentle whispers of my name,
Until a sight that dazzled my eyes stood in my way.
I was inebriated by her elegance, she wore a dress red as wine.
I was possessed by her scent, she smelled divine.
I burned wit passion as i watched the flames dance in her eyes.
"Care to dance?: I asked, "It would be a pleasure," She replied.
As we waltzed into the withered trees,
The secrets of the world she revealed to me.
She knew terror and sorrow and darkness,
And yet her soul was pure, untainted, immaculate.
Day into night, pleasure into pain, this chance encounter into ecstasy.
When the moment was bliss I stole the affection from her lips,
And thus she began drawing me into the abyss.
Daunted by nostalgia's tune, clinging to every note,
I strolled down the path of my memories in a vain search of hope. A connoisseur of souls and my reservoir was to quench her thirst,
For I had just embraced the kiss of death.
I turned and ran, guided by grief,
But soon fell to the ground like an Autumn leaf.
I knew i was not ready to find eternal peace,
For there were too many promises I was yet to keep.
I glanced at the stars surrounding the moon like diamonds dancing around a pearl,
How vain it is that I lost myself in an attempt to gain the world.
In that moment i longed for what fortune and fame could not give,
For i discovered that even with these, I had not lived.
I screamed with what might have been my final breath,
"Death! I beseech thee, spare me from my regret."
She laughed cynically as she drew near,
And placed her lips towards my ear.
"Live," She whispered, "I'm coming."
