A blank canvas He had.
He grabbed his brush
with all the paints He wanted
and He was in no rush.

He grabbed a beige
and created a heart-shaped face.
Then a light brown
for strands around the space.

Long and hard He thought
but couldn't decide.
So He chose both blue and gray
for the ocean waves in her eyes.

A well rounded nose
and teeth pearly white.
So her smile could
make the world so bright.

In just a snap,
after God had painted.
The masterpiece was done
and I was created.

She looked at herself in the mirror.
She wished that all her fat would disappear.
She thought she was ugly
because all she felt was chubby.

Her heart sunk when she went shopping
because she always felt like stopping.
She did find clothes and decided to try them on
but it seemed like all hope was gone.

She tried on one silky, red dress.
She thought "It fits fine, I guess."
She stepped out to look at the mirror
and say a lady sitting right near.

She signed at her image
and all she could do was grimace.
"You look amazing" someone said.
Her eyes bugged out as she turned her head.

Pushing all the negative feelings,
she finally realized she actually was appealing.
The woman smiled as she started to smile
and that smile lasted a long while.

She went out in that dress
and she totally felt her best,
but it wasn't the dress that made the part
it was the happiness and confidence in her heart.

Every miracle,
every storm,
peace is with you.
You are not alone.

When all is lost,
all hope is gone,
there is fluttering wings
above you like a swan.

Light shines
above their wings,
and sweet songs
beckon as they sing.

When times are tough,
they retrieve from Jesus
to remind our spirits
angels are among us.

scarred
abandoned
and lost.
she tried so hard.

her heart
bleed,
reached,
scavenged for more.

alone
she played,
cavorted,
along with the keys

euphony was her
escape,
get away,
retreat from it all

He wiped our tears
so we could see.
Broke our chains
so we could be free.
Embraced us
to know it's okay.
Woke us up
to be alive another day.
Gave us words
so we could share.
Gave us hearts
so we could care.
Gave us feet
so we could walk and run.
Gave us laughter
so we could have fun.
Gave us arms
to lift Him up
Gave us His presence
to overflow in our cup.

Each day
she brushes them back
but they return
and slowly begin to burn.

Flowing like ocean waves
they come back and forth.
Each tear drops in the ocean
and she tries to contain her emotion.

Pain never seems to dissipate.
She was always far away
from her lighthouse in the night
while she'd searched for a light.

She drowns in her overflowing tears
and waves her hands
for a sign of safety
but she's lost in the crying sea.

Rain, rain is all it does
Pour, pour it goes outside.
Indoors has become so boring.
Under my warm blanket I hide
when water is just a pouring
which is all just a buzz.
