I want to be a stranger,
So you won’t cry when I’m gone,
I don’t deserve your tears,
Your laughter, or your songs.

I want to be a stranger,
Standing in the shadows,
Never noticed by you,
My heart acting hollow.

I want to be a stranger,
So that the pain won’t come,
I will never miss,
The face of anyone.

I want to be a stranger,
So that when I see your face,
I don’t think of the times,
Where I’ll be gone without a trace.

I don’t want to be a stranger,
Missing every conversation,
I want to know this town,
This state and this nation,

I don’t want to be a stranger,
I want to live in the sun,
I want to know you,
I want to speak to everyone.

I don’t want to be a stranger,
But when I look around,
I feel guilty for being a friend,
Even though I feel found.

I don’t want to be a stranger,
But I don’t want you to weep,
I want you to have fun,
Without me to keep.
I'm moving away from the place I've lived at for my whole life in the summer so this sort of thing has been on my mind recently.

Somebody tell me why everything in the world changes
Day to day
I notice the little things
The color of the air changes from orange to blue
Somebody tell me why one day an hour is a minute long and the next each second feels like a year
Why is every breath I take, every blink I make, every head turn, every wave, every smile and every frown
Just a little bit different.
Somebody tell me why nothing ever just stays the same
Somebody tell me why it seems that just when I get to know someone they change
Just a stroke of curiosity

Everybody’s different
From our height to our shape to our face
Everybody’s different
But we all deserve a place

Everybody’s different
Our mind, emotion, and thoughts
Everybody’s different
And we’re all loved lots

There are people that are tall,
There are people that are short,
There are people who are able to twist turn and contort.

There are people who are happy,
There are people who are sad,
There are people who’d do anything when they’re feeling mad.

Everybody’s different,
From their forehead to their toes,
Everybody’s different,
And I quite think that that glows.
I was thinking how wonderful it is that the whole world is a rainbow and that no two people are quite the same. We’re snowflakes.

I’ve fallen in love,
With the clouds at dusk,
The golden tint of the sun,
Gives me a sense of trust.

I’ve fallen in love,
With the stars in the night,
A void of darkness,
Filled with shimmering lights.

I’ve fallen in love,
With the Silhouettes of the trees,
The reflection on the water,
The feeling it brings.

I’ve fallen in love,
With the moon in the dark,
Changing, always changing,
Yet still in our hearts,

I’ve fallen in love,
With emotion, full devotion,
And the general commotion,
Of the thunder and the lightning’s motion.

I’ve fallen in love,
With the dawn, day, and dusk,
The night as well, too,
So tell you, I must.

Yes, I’ve fallen in love,
Oh my, oh my,
I’ve fallen deep, deep in love,
With the one and only sky
An ode to the beauty of the sky and the world

Oh, Lamppost, you light my way through the streets in the darkest of hours.
You give life to the sidewalk as the skyscrapers tower.
You hold my hand as I walk down the river,
Giving me warmth so that I don’t shiver.
You clear my head of worries,
And unlock the door to my mind,
As you look deeper inside,
I wonder what you hope to find.
You hold the light of the stars,
But when I look again,
All you are,
Is my little lamppost friend.
I wrote this for school but I thought it was a good representation of how random objects in the city have a lot of personality.
