danger zone

it's 2 am
you are laying
beside me
fast
asleep

when you are
near me
i can still hear
the passing storm
in your
heartbeat
feel the meadows
in your
smile

and darling
i don't think
i have ever
heard
something
so breathtaking

but i swear
sometimes
i
can still
feel
the loneliness
in your
touch
the screams
in your
kisses

they are
ambulance sirens
warning signs
tocsins

yelling
at me
to
evacuate
as quickly
as possible

and darling
i don't think
i have
ever
heard
something
so
frightening

His fingers brushed the path of her arm
From wrist to elbow to shoulder
Gradually resting at the nape of her neck

Her head lolled back
Resting its weight in his offered cupped palm
Her breath reduced to a sigh

She briefly closed her eyes
Before pulling away from his touch
And hurriedly walked off in her own direction

No words were said, no declaration,
but his outstretched hand
Spoke volumes

My heart pounds and breaks into pieces
Whenever I cry I have so many reasons
I close my eyes and I see your face
you look at me and make my heart race
Your true love is my fine medicine
When I die your touch gives me life again
Your all I want and all ill ever need
Your every wish I made on a dandelion seed

the wind howls
the moon won't rise
everything shatters
they're broken inside.
music plays
but nobody's listening
voices sing
the fire is blistering.
people argue
things don't change
it's not getting better
just doesn't seem as strange.
life keeps moving
nobody wins
it's not a game
the moment begins.
the crowd seems to roar
but there's nobody there
it all seemed so good once
but there's no one left to care.
it may get better
i'm sure it will
but for now i'm left thinking
while i lie still.
soft music gets louder
the drums begin to sound
a guitar is added in now
this place is crumbling down
yeah
