There was a yearning in her voice
She whispered to me

Don't leave

Placing a hand to my cheek
She looked me in the eye

Don't leave me

She whispered again
And again
And again

Danger was a girl
I know because she told me
She whispered it in my ear
And death was her playmate

She likes to dance by fire,
She stirs people's emotions,
Pique one's curiosities,
And when she comes alive at night,
Their eyes watch but don't come near

You're proud, too proud for me
To tell me how you really feel
You let it get in the way with the things between us
And with the girl you first loved
With the girl you shared your first kiss with
Are you happy,
Now that she's gone,
And left you for someone else?

When you came back for me
You've welcomed bitterness into your heart
and let it consume you

You let your ego get in the way
You couldn't look past your own flaws
Because you were too proud to admit
That you were wrong
Too proud to feel shame

Do you know how it made me feel,
When I couldn't love you anymore,
When you told me you wanted me again,
So that I could be used for your own selfish gain?

You bragged about your successes
You enjoyed telling me how much you liked the next girl
But did you know that
You were lengthening the gap between us?

When the mind becomes unhealthy
The body follows

The mind can only scream
As it looks to the body
For answers

For every unspoken word
Is a price to pay
A thought on depression.

As the silence goes

Our eyes alone catch one another
These quiet, intimate, three seconds of time

The look in your eyes were so real to me
It was just the two of us
As every other being
Continues to move along in life

As the silence goes
No words could speak better than
What we could feel then

Hand in hand
There you were
With someone special

This busy and fast paced world
Lets our old memories sleep
Lets us forget
But I will never about you

As the silence goes
And as time went on
So did we
About a girl from high school. I mean she liked me back but...Also, I hope ya'll don't misunderstand this poem, because it's about unrequited love, I never got to connect with her as she was dating someone else.
