As a kid
One minute you think
That you can change the world
With a heartwarming speech,
But when you grow up
You realize that
Those who hold immense power
Carry a torch
In the other hand,
And won’t hesitate
To burn this place to the ground.
Long way from home
Inside the walls of a place
You have lived
Your entire life.

Trying a few new styles, let me know what you think!

I’ve begun to forget what it feels like to kiss his lips,
The feeling of his arms wrapped around me.
I vaguely remember his lovely scent,
His beautiful warm laughter.
But I still know it’s my favorite thing in the world.
I finally met the person,
That I never knew existed,
But always longed to know,
Ever present in my dreams.
But now I know they’re real,
Real as this happiness I feel,
As I lay beside them at night,
At peace knowing dreams can come true.
I know that I’ll be okay,
But for once I’d like to not be the person
Who always knows it will be okay,
And to just be able to live in the moment,
While someone else holds me and says I’ll be okay.
