i did not really expect you to say anything when i told you i loved you
but my heart still sank when the silence between us overstayed its welcome
11.15.16
Once upon a time,
there was a girl who drank the moon
gurgled and guzzled until it filled her,
moonlight shimmering through her skin
and stardust lingering in her veins
she was waxing and waning
and the tides followed her small feet,
every month she shrunk into herself
before being born anew
glorious and whole and bright
bright enough to rival the sun
and how the sun loved her so,
his gaze warmed her back every day of her life
kissing her softly as she grew into the silver
that was her skin, her hair, her eyes
and how the night welcomed her
she could hear stars whispering
see adoration in every glimmer
the girl grew and grew, and the silver shone
and she longed for her sun, his warmth
and for the stars, her friends
every night she would shine
she could light up the world with that shine
white and silver and brilliant
she was love incarnate
and so
was loved in return

Andrew Durst
I've been in love
(or thought I was)
twice now
and I'm only
twenty years old.

I've spent my entire life
practicing the art
of letting go
and I lost track of
my losses
because I've never
been good with
numbers.

I have
added,
subtracted,
divided
and solved
my way back
to you

countless of times

and this is how
I know I am

no good at math.

tell me
why private thoughts
become so loud and violent
upon our faces that
they peel the layers of skin,
and our own form of sun,
burns us alive inside.
i waited patiently for your breath
like hot summer nights,
a whisper of a wind, a secret
tantalizing, lost in lulls of sleep
and i'm restless in bed,
sheets suffocate me with the
lies of your body, and
ghosts are more familiar
than your scent.
tell me, i screamed it with my
eyes as you slept.
i once held your palm and
felt your fingers slip,
did they reach for hers
instead?

When Christians were persecuted in biblical times they would identify each other with the symbol of the fish.

It is the symbol of Christianity to this day.

No matter what I say or do
Nothing is going to change you

You helped me to realize
That loving someone
Wasn't always going to be enough
And it doesn't matter how much you love them
They really have to want it
And they have to want to open up

How can we be on the same page
When we're not even in the same book?
I've written chapters about you and I
Yet, you write about me only when you're in trouble
Here I am for you
But that takes a toll

I need someone to be there sometimes too
But, that doesn't change the fact
I love you
