Just a little birdie getting by
Does looking at the starry sky
 Make only me teary-eyed?
Am I alone in my astonishment? Does taking in the universe in a glance
Make only me feel inspired to dance?
Am I alone in my astonishment? Does seeing a shooting star
Make only me feel a pain in my heart?
Am I alone in my astonishment? Does the idea of the size of the galaxies
 Make only me feel meek?
Am I alone in my astonishment? Does seeing the Milky Way
 Make only my day?
Am I alone in my astonishment? Does the thought of other worlds
 Make only my wonderment unfold?
Am I alone in my astonishment?

Am I Alone In My Astonishment?
Struggling to breath, that simple in and out I'm drowning in the waves of doubt I feel my throat constricting, pulling tight And feel the tears coming, the ones I can't fight A symphony of sorries comes spilling from within I can't believe it, I said it again I'm sorry for saying it My own words make me sick

Doubt
My breaths clouds before my eyes Tumbling from my lungs I watch it freeze upon the air And smile as it fades. Snow flutters around my face Melting as I catch it on my palm I tilt my head back to taste the freezing cold And shiver as it lands on my tongue. A clump of snow strikes my back And I laugh as I search for the culprit There he is, hidden poorly, pracitcally in sight I sneak behind him and stuff snow down his jacket. Steam wafts up from a nice warm cup Cocoa is hidden within a sea of marshmallows I sip it slowly, savoring the warmth And feel goosebumps along my arms. I embrace every moment winter has to offer Arms opened wide to the chilling wind Hair whipping acrossed my face As I lose myself in the season.
