I can sense and I can feel,
As always when I’m alone,
Nature’s steady lonely beauty,
To me so often it has shown.
I see its pleasant colours,
I hear its musical sounds,
I feel its friendly loneliness,
In all its timeless endless bounds.
At times I feel so happy,
Then at times I feel so sad,
But I can understand it all,
Whether I’m feeling good or bad.

Panic attack, taking hold,
Flashing thoughts, tremblingly bold,
Unseen fingers clutching heart,
Rapid pumping on its part;
Senses heightened, movements stalled,
Adrenaline has been called.

At night the degrees dropped below zero
heavy snow rained down to the ground below
covering homeless tramps bundled and old
on sidewalks shivering with freezing cold
some luckless beggars sleep on parks' benches
forever trapped by penniless fences
a handful few will not survive till dawn
not even when the final ice is gone

All the days of old
Like precious gold
Are gone forever
So we are told;
Will we see them again
Will they be back
Like summer’s rain
Or in the past
they must remain?

If one day you can find
A shining crystal stream
Near where the rainbow ends
Where sometimes dreams begin
Follow the mystic waters
They lead to a foreign land
Where little folks and fairies
So invisible to man
Get together so often
Each from a different clan
Arrive at the correct time
At night when the stars are bright
You can hear the starlight elves
Singing in the silent night

Tallish, solemn and quiet,
Soldiers still in the skyline,
With lighted eyes like watchdogs,
Apartments so sleek and fine,
Awake sentiments in me,
Of peace and tranquility.

Her leaves were transformed, jade green to gold,
She proudly struck a picturesque pose,
In the cool autumn's October month,
Justly pretty as a flowered rose;
The morning sun a helping hand did lend,
To enhance her winsome worldly charms,
At times a brazen afternoon breeze,
Caressed her gently with loving arms;
Her golden colour a month did last,
Winter stripped her naked as can be,
Then in December the snow arrived,
And changed her into a frosted tree.

The time has come,
The sparrow told his mate,
I really hate to go,
But I am already late;
We’ve lived a life so full,
Together so lovingly dear,
I wish that I could always be,
To you forever near;
But we all have to die,
Somehow one lonely day,
Please don’t cry for me,
My love for you will always stay.
