you wake,
my mistake,
make me dry my eyes.
When it takes you
break, make me realize
seasons change
and summer fades
If you sway then so shall I
I will rise, and I will fall
Be the moon and I'll be your tide
We try so hard - never get so far
on our aging wings and our growing scars.
We cry in vain to our heart shaped chains,
they look back,
whisper
the same.
Medicate my mistakes
from these places in my mind
while I make my escape;
my exodus from pride.
When it comes, when it goes,
if you stay then so shall I.
I will rise, I will set
I'll be the moon you be my tide
We try so hard but never get so far
as our tattered wings fade into scars.
We sing in vain to our heart shaped cage
And these walls
echo back
our refrain.
make me a space
where I can place my hand.
Then fake , and save face
I can understand.
When it comes and winter goes
if you melt then so shall I.
I will rise,
and subside
You're my moon
You're my tide

Go outside late at night. Go really outside.
Outside of your town. Outside of your county.
Make your escape from all of their lights.
Look for a place most people forget if you can still check your Facebook -
you're not there yet
Go when it's clear, go when it's cool. When the air is dry and when there is no moon, go
into a field and lie flat on you're back,
gaze out to the sky and revel
in that
When you feel your hands clenching the grass so you don't fall - there's no turning back
Pay attention to the weight of your arms.
Feel the pressure where the ground meets the skin of your back.
Draw in the deepest breath that you can and release that grip on the grass.
As the panic subsides and you realize
that there wasn't a 'down' to fear
There is no 'up' out here
The ground doesn't hold you down
it pulls
us near.
When you begin to sympathize with the magnets on your fridge - you're right on the fringe.
Look into the heavens.
Look at all those stars floating around.
Imagine them moving imperceptibly fast
across distance so vast
that a thousand consecutive lifetimes barely amount to a glass.
Like water swirling around an infinite,
unreachable drain,
a cosmic fluid where all this you can see is contained and entangled,
constrained
by a simple but irrefutable fact
that regardless of size all mass
simply attracts
other mass
When the stars pull on us
we pull back
So draw in the longest, deepest glance that you can, when you can't picture where the nearest tree to you stands - you're closing in
Now ignore your weight. Ignore your hands.
Ignore the pressure of your back stuck not on top but to the side of this tiny speck of sand. Forget about this tiny speck of sand entirely
When it's just you floating,
pulling the stars from their skies
When the earth is the body
to which you are the eyes,
you
have arrived.
Stay as long as you like.

I'd hoped you had bought us popcorn,
But you had not bought us popcorn.
We will not get to eat popcorn.
Life is fuggin hard.
I'd hoped you had bought us ice cream.
But you have not bought us ice cream.
No joy, no brain freeze, no ice cream.
Life is fuggin hard.
I'd hoped you had rented a movie,
But you have picked a ****** movie.
Now I'm watching a ****** movie.
Life is fuggin hard.

I *** outside
When no one's around
I *** outside
Right there on the ground
I *** outside
Near my favorite tree
I *** outside
That is where ***
Is meant to be.
Let's not waste so much water
On something like *****
We waste way too much water
Of this I am certan
Go out to your yard
Hang a privacy curtain
If we keep wasting water
Our world
Will keep hurtin'

R. T. Rybak (third) Verse:
/
Y'all still follow Rybak, right?/
Isn't it wicked cool/
When he puts those verses out on Facebook to give all of us the scoop!
I still subscribe today/
Always stuff I like to know/
I can't remember them word for word but could probably emulate his flow:
"No parking on that side tonight/
Or surely you'll be towed/
If you're driving on The Southide then I think you oughta know /
On Hennepin south of Lake Street/
You shouldn't park for any time/
From 9 o'clock this morning 'til after six o'clock tonight.
And for this inconvenience/
My friends, you'll never know/
How sorry that I am to say, it's time that I must go"
I hit @Slug, @Prince, and even Master @Yoda himself in the verses! They have their own choruses too but you gotta wait to hear them! I'm recording what I got so far in about an hour or so, so I should have a demo for you this week!

Dear @NewtonFaulkner,
#nextLine
A fictional poem by Mitch Paradise || @niteLifePRO
(First draft/ February 26th/ somewhere between Minneapolis and Denver)
::
It rings, "The UK?
Could it possibly be?"
So I pick that **** up,
guess who's talking to me?!
Recognized #WriteAway
I interrupt by third-word
"#NoFugginWay! Open Twitter: 'Hashtag'
#WontBelieveWhatWeHeard!"
No way this is real, man!
Hashtag: #CanNotBeTrue!"
He says, "Hi, my name's NEWton,
'Hashtag'
I'm a big fan of you..."
I stop. Almost cry,
"#amIreallyThatHigh?"
Or is my personal Hero waiting
on my #nextLine?
He says, "you're quick wit' your wit, @Kid,
Surely you will go far!"
"Thanks, man. You're a writer;
so you know how we are....
How we talk to @ourSelves,
#alMOSTofTheTime!
Envisioning all of our @Idols,
hanging on that #nextLine...
So yeah, Maybe I have
ran this by a few times,
so if that #dayEverCame,
I'd have that perfect #FirstLine
And sure, Maybe I do,
mix it up 'at-mention' @Times,
A little #staged a little #live
bunch of #freestyles and #rhymes...
"Which is it now,
I do wonder?",
he so simply replies,
....
I say, "Honestly, @MrYodaFanGuy?
I'm asked that same question
'Hashtag'
#allOfTheTime....
But, you liked something of mine, Hell,
You could be reading #toNite,
So Keep it surreal, @MrFaulkner,
We'll catch you
on the very #nextLine
Sincerely,
- @Mitch (ThatKidFrom_niteLife)
