Words fail in describing the human experience. / Poets still try on occasion.
You watched me as we worked the garden, Every blade cut in line, every hole plugged and filled. And as time and sweat watered and tilled. You watched. You watched us put down and take up roots, Parties and cricket, rugby and pets, even phone calls to lovers. But in the rain and the regrets we left un watered and withered. You watched We left and you watched us still. We grew our own gardens, watered with joy and tears. New memories and fields that grew year on year. And you closed your eyes. We buried you in someone else's garden. And returned to tend yours, let the dead earth breathe again. And turn a new leaf, but somewhere between the breeze again, You watched. You bloomed. And you wait. Until we stand in the same garden again.

In this garden
In a room full of enemies Including yours truly Even when truly sometimes I’m not even yours You speak of me fondly And call me by name You blame me for beauty and love for your cause But love like an ocean Is nearer than shadows From my shallow stream that runs dry by your sea Your thunder will deepen This rain deep affection And deep connects deep as you flow out of me.

A seed That was what your love was like It had to die to grow Watered by memories Tilled by todays And all our hopes for tomorrow My heart still blooms with love for you And that's where your garden still grows

Your garden
It is both understandable and bewildering, That you knew my name before I did, Even before I was born, And I will remember yours long after you are gone.

The Sky was always your home, You just came in and lit up my room for a little while.

My ray of sunshine
Between the wind and rain Is a breath from my lungs That longs to be in yours

Sigh
You pull down the canopy of night, And with pin ****** bright, You guide the sun back to the sky And whip back the grey and black canvass Royal gold and turquoise Without a noise, your pen scratches the sky With streaks of white and grey Thick black thunder heads sway And then as the paint bleeds, you cover the easel We can open the heart and pierce the mind, But only an artist leaves feelings behind, Feelings from thoughts as big as the sky

The Artist
In your eyes there is freedom, From the shadow's glare From the wounded stares From the mirror snares In your hands there is healing From the heart of doubt From a life without From a razor mouth In your heart there is meaning For the misunderstood child For the violent wild For the broken smile But in your death there is nothing Forever closed eyes Forever cold hands Forever silent heart

In your death
Hello my heart of hearts Why do you scream at the stars Do you not know that they cannot hear you They are far too far Why do you hold to these sorrows of sorrows Why do you rage against yourself? Give up, There is nothing good in you, What is wrong with you, So ******* useless. Heart of hearts this will not do. That simple sorrows would rise this tide And wash away the joy inside. Remember small battles and losses mean naught. They are the shadows between the stars, That we trace behind our eyes. Heart of hearts, if you believe this truth. You will be the sky of skies. That gravity cannot help but let fly.

Heart of hearts
You always loved to drive. I remember how it made you smile. Made you feel alive Mile after mile. Your mind after mine You are my dad after all But I could never find The drive to follow I let you drive off Into the night and never knew That would be the last time I'd see you Red tail lights, blurred, as I walk home.
