Lavender Twilight lavender twilight birds seeking their rest on high musically sighing soft murmurs so sweet fill the evenings late hours quiet now at rest heads tucked under wings little souls now full of peace waiting for the dawn

where once he saved that tender voice for me where once I knew I was loved beyond devotion it's self, now now we are but strangers walking in different rooms rooms dressed in blue

the masks we wear each day carrying them hiding behind placid faces unknown, untouched they cling growing heavy as we walk the years we are what they seem or are we something more in private, behind drawn shades it slips to the floor revealing the monster that is me

remember the after glow of smiles bright summer days laughter whispering softly an echo of life's path let those who grieve dry your tears my dears on soft rose petals left behind as I wait at rest for you my heart when life is done with primrose in my hair
