Poetry is a language I will always love, film being my first love. / I wrote my first poem at thirteen which I read over and over again inspired by a young man at my high school who had caught my eye. From then on I began to read portions of poetry for inspirations and feel that even though I have grown in my knowledge and love for it there is still room for improvement.
They say you be gone Joy She be gone they say And I asks them Would you be content if they told you, your joy be gone Would you continue to inhale this dead life into you? I say be more alive than life itself Joy be the music in my soul and I dance to her I dance till my feet move, till they looks me in the eye and shake their heads You be here Joy, Joy you be gone You be here, I feel you Joy, you be here You be Alive You be gone She done leave you they say I say Joy would never leave me She be the sunshine, she be sweet like Honey old folk music I have seen slaves move to her beat Honey my joy be fireflies, my joy flies She be here Joy be here What if Joy be all these diary pages I's been ripping off? What if she…. Maybe mama be right……..Joy gone Joy not here My womb too bitter for Joy She be gone

Joy
I knew the feel of paridise, the day you held me in your arms, pulling me close to this ethreal world that only existed at the edges of my fantasies That stormy night  we conceived a bond, I remember you rested your head on my womb and named her dawn, you said someday our dawn would come, Some day I will hold you before them, right under the harvest moon they will let me dance with you.... In all truth never in my life had I been in the presence of royalty, walked down the red carpet till the very hour I laid my eyes on you, the sight of you, the idea of you...... Never in my life had I seen the perfect setting of a sun, sea gulls fleeting through the skies, purple blue birds midsky..... Oh my my my a black prince had just kissed somewhere inside of me I knew the feel, the sound, the taste of paridise the day our hearts embraced like the skies embrace the seas, I could swear I saw them kissing, toungues dancing, exchanging breathes conceiving the perfect horizon Me and you afar in the horizon shadowing my mind, like the desert sands embrace the rains letting them belong, burying them somewhere deep within....I knew. no words......

Paradise
He said, to be with you beside you, having you carry my seed would have been the honor Watching you, exist with me inside of you, you don't understand They'll never understand…….you, how much I feel for you You are three ladies in one, many days an less nights An African goddess, you hold moons, your eyes……I cannot bear to look into **** looking into them eyes of yours is like looking at a thousand fireflies in harmony In agreement with this mere in me that we beheld beautiful He said, turn around and face me Let the stars pause in their quest, moons behold you Let dawn make her entrance earlier and still she won't come close  to you, no she cannot compete Nothing comes close to you…….no…….nothing For you hold more grace and class than any other creature thats walked the face of the earth See you have this pride, this je se nais quoi that no one else possesses when I see you…. Ladies and gentleman I stood there knees shaking, heart pounding This man knew how to string words, to pick em like one would pick a rose come to me present them an say these I picked for you, they remind me of you, for like them you are forever He knew how to cater sweet poetry to a woman I blushed Studying the art in his gaze, he took a breathe He said, how many times must I tell you, kissing you, holding you is like that of a rose it lingers, stays with me, keeps me wide awake I am more aware of you, your presence, your existence more than I have been of any other woman You are bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh my Eve, my Rachel, my Rebecca Mother of my offspring, lover of my soul, Nakupenda milele no words
