little girl
so fair,
such silky
fabric is
your skin.
what light
lies in your
button eyes,
light that has never
been tainted,
stolen.
little girl,
what a precious
doll you are!
your hair flows
like threads
from a loose stitch.
such a shame it is
that one day
you will watch
as it all
rips apart
seams tearing
cotton spilling out
from your teddy heart
as the world reaches in
without asking,
taking the stuffing
and leaving
lost threads
grasping
for
connection.

i am sitting at the park,
when i catch your gaze
the way you stare,
your eyes ablaze.
i want you to be mine,
though you never come
i try to call out for you,
but my lips go numb.
i want to touch you,
know that you are there
but i know it can never be,
because love is never fair.
i am sitting at the park,
i am present but no one is home
i ache for touch, for a soft kiss,
but forever i will wait, all alone.
