She's Like Bubble Gum
She's like bubble gum
I take her out of the wrapper
Put her in my mouth
Chomp down
It tastes good at first
There's no denying that
The taste is wonderful
It's sugary and sweet
There are new touches of sweetness that I can savor
I swoosh it around in my mouth
I blow a big bubble
And I then hear her pop
There's no better sound
Than to hear that pop
It's a thrill
Then, after a while
The taste looses it's sweetness
It becomes a chore
I swoosh it around my mouth
It seems rudimentary
Not complimentary
I blow a big bubble
It doesn't pop
It lost its flavor
I then take the bubble gum
Look at it for the last time
Toss it out into the wind
And let someone else step on it
It's that easy
There's more bubble gum to unwrap
Baby out there is thinking what the heck
Is he talking about
She's right
She's still in the wrapper
Freshly minted
Gift wrapped
Waiting to arrive, I bet
Baby out there is thinking what the heck
Is he talking about
She's right
I'm just having fun,
dreaming

The Sixth Grade Bully Lost
We were kids
That took the low road
Growing up
On the edge
Of the sword
Bullying other school kids
And breaking the rules
It was dark
Cold-hearted pursuit
To cause pain
To these kids
Stealing their lunchtime monies
Homework, clothes, and shoes
Like puppets
Stripped of dignity
Their strings pulled
And life's tugged
They followed that lowest road
Throughout that sixth grade
They shoplift
Stole fishing hooks for the hood
Rods and reels
Food and snacks
And condoms just for practice
Their faces were sad
Years later
Gray, old, and dusty
I ask why
What reason
Was there to tear on their youth
And leave this world scarred

Alysha Liu started climbing the highest mountain, starting when she was five, and fifteen years later, she reached the top.
Starting at an early age, the seed was planted in a dream, and was nourished, cultivated, and strengthened through the years of grueling practices, a pause at 16, a hesitation, and then an about-face. Today, she is an Olympic Champion in figure skating. And deservingly so.
Her family, especially her dad, was in front.
But nature had her back.
She blended with the elements. So free spirited as the wind. So radiant as the sun. So mysterious and exotic as the moon.
Alysha won prettily in Italy.
She carried herself well in a golden sequin dress, with a golden halo hairdo, and those sparkling golden eyes. She was more than cute. She was golden, wholesome, and real. And she skated to perfection.
She made the US proud, crowd and loud over her accomplishments. And deservedly so
And her family, fans, and freedom absolutely adore her.
There will be other winners. But there will be none like Alysha, bunny-hopping "her way" to her coaches after her performance, where her warmth and good vibes touch everyone along the way that is watching as she greets her coaches--- all with tears of joy in their eyes.

Harris and Trump hit the stage
At stake is the next US president
The debate was filled with rage
The debate was filled with torment
It was like watching a tennis match
With each participant taking shots
Back and forth we watched the barbs hatch
Back and forth each tried to connect the dots
Harris let her racket do the talking
While Trump defended the ball in his courts
The participants were mocking and rocking
The participants built word forts and false reports
Harris wasn't perfect and neither was Trump
But you can see clearly which one looked the part
Both party's stars are looking to triumph
Both party's stars are pledging a fresh start
Time and time again we hear campaign dreams
So it comes down to which candidate you believe in
Which candidate has less Pinnochio inseams
Which candidate you want to win
On November 5th the votes will be cast
And of importance, our American welfare is at stake
So think it over and be true and steadfast
So think it over and make ... no mistake

She Fell Into The Abyss
he takes to the tunnel of night
dark at first, but he tiptoes in
and sees the light
he follows a trail
a women's scent that arouses him
he sees her across the bar
seated by herself
hunger on her face
a wallflower
a sheep in a lea to him
weak and pull-able of wool
and he needs wool
a ball of yarn to desensitize
and spins to his satisfaction
and he needs to be sated
... especially
with this ones youth and innocence
her striking blue eyes
and sweet mouth
indifferent to him
but it's her pond of ducks that excites ... him
hidden in his pocket
is a knife of fantasy
a blade of deceit
rope of words to incapacitate
... then
he looks into her blues
as he begins making his move
sweet talking, sweet talking
her socks off
he keeps seeing the ducks in the pond
swimming faster and faster
his heart beating faster and faster
a fruit ripening before his eyes
ready to be eaten
he takes the first dagger from his pocket
two white pills and slips into her drink
laughs to himself
at least this dagger won't hurt
as he chokes on his sadism
she falls into her arms
asleep
so soft and vulnerable
unsuspecting and naive
she walks out with him in slumber
later that night
a shotgun blasts breaks the air
ducks flapping in the night
then ... silence

It takes
Snowflakes
To fall
In all
Landscapes
Reshapes
White sheets
Such treats
All day
Kids play
Some sled
The spread
Some ski
With glee
Some skate
The slate
Snowballs
Appalls
Snowballs
Catch alls
Such fun
Is spun
My youth
Had tooth
Long ago
I glow

Testing
It works. I tried posting earlier, 2x, and received the message 502 Bad Gateway and for two days the poem
I posted had zero views. I was puzzled.
In fact I was saddened. In my view something not right with this site.
