How strange it is to be anything at all.
Fallen angels And meteorites Celestial outcasts Casting light Collide Across the canvas Of the night sky Pyrotechnic procession Further from heaven, Closer to heaven

Further From Heaven
I understand, you’re the captain, the pilot And in your hand, I oughta be docile, pliant It’s your world, after all, I’m just living within it And if that life’s all a lie, well I guess I’m complicit Do you feel like God from atop of that pulpit? At the edge of the world, Should I jump, or just spit? This home is a mold and I break from within it But if I do what I’m told Then just maybe I’ll fit

Edge of the World
Feathered fingers through fragile seams / Slowly undoing the mess of me I find you in the folds of dreams / Shimmering invitingly, teasing / Against a hazy grain of memory Love is another word for wanting / Inevitably, desire grows teeth

Desire
Sifting by hand The hourglass sand That which is past Has its own demands Over again I watch the world end I wait to wake up For life to begin

The Hourglass
Face like an angel, Ancient cathedral / English ivy writhing, Loneliness in its tendrils

English Ivy
My heart has never known this hunger / She danced like sunlight on the water Truth is / Time goes / Slower in the maze Minutes / Drag on / Start to feel like days I’ve been here before / Just beyond the door /There the paradox / The fear to want for more

The Paradox
Drinking in the desert at night / Hot wind’s blowing, so I know that change is nigh, like / Lightning arcing on the horizon / Or summer rain, sent straight down from heaven It was something I never felt / Seeing through dreaming into hell itself / Cosmic static on the TV at the motel / Naked with a stranger, but he knows your body well The fluorescents spoke of secrets / Buzzing like long dead insects / Morse flickering in silent witness / To passion, violence, clandestine *** / Who could fathom what comes next / Though the road signs sigh of prophesized apocalypse
