I was far too young to feel that alone, to think about my bones and the places that they might go. How old were you when you thought about your skeleton? And not just your skeleton, but the skeletons of your friends?

Skeleton
digging a hole in the sky, nothing's at the bottom except my mind. i am shaking like a leaf that feels itself rustling and i don't know what to say when i'm feeling this way. gather all the sap from your overturned, battered family tree. you are waving like a breeze that hears itself howling, and i don't know what to say when you're feeling that way.

That way
there was a man, he had no plans, he collected cans. he had a fear of time, said that clocks would lie, and lived inside his mind. all of the neighbor kids would fashion fibs about how he lived. they said, "he's actually rich!" "his life is a cinch!" "he doesn't need to live like this!" "he chose to live like this." one of his days it went astray to an opposite state. six feet he lay underneath a grave, an unmarked grave. all of the neighbor kids, they're kicking cans, a forgotten man.

the future lies behind me *** I don't know what it holds, and i'm just stumbling backwards as if i know where i'm going. but the past is a burnt picture that i can hardly see, yet, despite its ashes it's right in front of me. so, here's to here and here's to now.

don't chew what you say, it's already in the clay. don't chew what you say, i've swallowed it anyway.

brother, wake up, wide-eyed and red-eyed son. like christmas lights in the daytime, with our skeletons in the snow, with ****** knees and elbows. what birth did for my body, let death do for my soul. like an embrace from the blackest night, our necks bent toward the sky, with telescopes but blind eyes.

I. you're cracking me up. you are not cracking me up; you have caulked my cracks. II. countries like play dough: controlled by the hands that mold, not mountains that fold. III. to those that marry, happy anniversary! enjoy your divorce. IV. then i had a dream that my teeth were falling out, how ******* cliche.

all the sand in my shoe and the love i have for you it all boils down all the dreams in my head and the words that i've said they all boil down with the weeds in my hair i don't care if something's there *** we all boil down to things beyond me all the rocks and all the moss and the minty dental floss it all boils down all the fountains at the mall and the misty waterfalls they all boil down we are big yet we are small in the middle of it all as we all boil down to things beyond me
