our fairest princess
has surely run away.
she's joined our pretty prince
and together they stay.
up in the stars,
conversing with the clouds,
running wild, running free,
her wings, making his, oh, so proud.

mom, i want to be a poet
i say sitting across from her.
she laughs in my face.
i've read your poems. they're awful.
it hurt to hear
but she is my mother
she's always right

storage center in my mind
the is no exit, no windows

he rubs my back
as i lay on his chest
he whispers to me
something i will never forget
and then i realized
i love him and he loves me

words pour out of my skull;
more story than poem,
as i scrape the essence of my soul,
and infuse the page with it
