by these still waters of rest am I nurtured,
catching glimpses of His Love in your reflection
we flit upon the surface,
finger painting mirror images--
concentric ripples of reverse engineered reverence cascading into eternity
dancing around the deep end,
we clumsily wade in
praying to earn our sea legs
a crescendo of swaying reeds between the lines
carrying the torch for He that illuminates the way in which we should walk
