Your friends gossip on about
How ugly the chick is with the hot pink hair
How stupid it is to be gay
How dumb the kid is in math that doesn't understand the "easy" math problem
How weird their new neighbor is for just saying hi
You talk to yourself and role your eyes, but you say nothing
You don't tell them to lighten' up on people, and maybe feel bad for them
Or mention to them to think about why these people do the things they do
Instead you stand there and let them make other people feel bad for
who they are

I travel throughout the swamp, engulfing all of nature
My favorite is the Lilly pads
They are so beautiful
Sprinkles of water glimmer in the light as they relax on a welcoming mat of beauty
The strong stem captures a fishermen's lure and gives it a home in the swamp
A turtle slowly drifts to sleep on a silk smooth bed, while being blanketed in the warm rays of the sun
The sweat fragrance of the snow white flowers penetrates throughout the scenic swamp
Your muscles strengthen, as they struggle to push a kayak away from a baby's tight grip
The large green pads carpet the warm summer water, sheltering young fish from lurking herons
As my friends sink into the chillingly fall waters I become sad
But when ever I am sunken eyed I think of the Lilly pads.

A gorgeous juicy American steak,
Plump sour green grapes,
brown gooey sweet dates,
Spiced and glazed meat roast
Syrup over French toast,
Thank me mouth for all these flavors
